Not sure what you mean. I could understand if you want to make serious money, or do serious marketing either one involves a lot of money. Maybe make serious marketing means to use marketing to be serious. Most likely what is referred to by the term, and call me crazy for saying so, but serious marketing is to do it relentlessly doing everything you can as free and paid methods until you see the results you are after. Anyone agree? I prefer to have fun, make money and make a difference.
I never heard the term "serious marketing" before. Marketing is marketing. You do it part-time or full time, for fun and for profit. I wonder if these "people" that you refer to are trying to get you into something underhanded tho. Watch your step. Bompa

Maybe they are talkig about not doing things that don't work, that the inexperienced, the dumb (like the posters here) thinks does work, like, signatures, Youtube, Yahoo Answers, article marketing in article dumpers, Myspace.... But why are you asking us? Ask the ones who said it.
