I don't think they're getting more intelligent--in fact they're probably just wasting their money. They get caught sooner or later.

They may not be totally scammers. May be, they wanted to sell something in buy and sell forum, but because of the limits available, to post in buy and sell forum, they may not be able to start a topic there and wanted to buy an account. ;)

Havent the digital point owners got anything to say about this? I would have thought they could send some sort of formal letter to the freelancer sites asking them to remove such adverts.

Their site is +/- automated .. That's why there is no 24/7 support ( mod activity as well ) !

    Are you serious?
No one in the right mind would buy an account for $50 to sell a product when they could just make 20 posts and sell it for free.

    Sort your head out mate.

Huh, why I haven't thought of that?

It's creative, actually. But not ethical, of course.

They just have extra money sitting around and, to be able to sell 2 weeks quicker (is it still 2 weeks?), they are willing to pay for an account. It doesn't damn them as a scammer automatically.

    It's just a loophole.
