    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

Methods I use to promote my sites, seriously..

It is a known fact that promotion and advertising is one of the most time consuming and major areas of website development. Well today I’m going to show you a few methods that I have found to be very effective in generating traffic and interest to your website.

I recommend you all read this, I know most of the stuff has already been covered but, you might learn something new.

Altogether it is about a 1200 word article, worth the read though.

    I cover the following topics:

    1. Social bookmarks
    2. Niche related mini sites with auto blogging software
    3. Forum signatures
    4. Blog commenting
    5. Pinging
    6. BitTorrent
    7. PPC Advertising

    How to promote your website

    Comments appreciated. :)

I am interested to know how to promote with BitTorrent ?
How much will you pay for the submission or do you submit yourself ?

I submit myself, I only submit to about 4 of the most popular torrent websites, but you could obviously do way more for maximum exposure.
What exactly is it that you would like to know? :)

EDIT: I just realized I didn't include a link to the actual post in my original post.

    oops.

Basically, you just upload torrents related to your niche, with keyword optimized titles and leave links in the descriptions, title, files etc.
There are a bunch of guides out there that show you how to create torrents, you can also do so by using Vuze's in built creator.

Wow. I always love to hear new/clever ways to advertise over and above the "norm". I'm going to check into this as well.

Does Google register all of the social networking sites? Once you create a profile on let's say Twitter...will google pick up this back link??

You should the lengthy guide I wrote about this method, it can also be incorporated into p2p file sharing, via limewire etc. You just need to find out what is it that your target audience search for and download.

For example, say you are targeting "skateboarding" the stereotype is that a lot of skateboarders listen to "emo" music. If you upload lyrics to songs or even songs themselves, by this genre, you pretty much specify your audience.

I'm not sure about all social networking sites, but as far as I know if the links are do follow then yes, they will register. For example digg links register right away.

Haha thanks, I'm surprised no one had thought of it before.
Maybe I should create a thorough video course or something and then sell it.

Haha yeah, I just arrived a week ago.

When I left it was in the 40's, haha.

It's going to be -7 here tomorrow though, quite a contrast.

Yeah, for sure. There are a ton of other methods I didn't include in that list, which when I think back to it, I probably should have.

It is refreshing to see someone suggest something a little bit different here. Too many people mention article marketing, PPC, etc. (even though those are viable advertising platforms).
