Need help with Paypal integration in my website

    Hi All,

I would like to integrate Paypal within my self hosted wordpress blog. I found a wordpress plugin [ http://www.instinct.co.nz/e-commerce/wp-e-commerce-features/ ] (thanks to DP) but I find the options there quite overwhelming for my simple needs.

Ok, here is what I want:

I want to start giving out a training course through one of my blogs. People should be able to purchase training and as soon as the number of people exceeds the max number, script should prompt something like "training is full for that month and you can purchase for next month"

How can this be implemented? Seeking ideas.

You can do this from within PayPal, just use the "Track inventory" option.

Does it also provide the option to future book my inventory? (In my case, booking for next month)

Not sure. I guess you could always make 12 different products: January Training, February Training, etc...

Ya that's the workaround I was thinking...

Option 1 has something called "Secure Merchant Account ID" ... Does Paypal charge any fee for it? I tried looking on the site but couldn't find any fee related info.

Also, what are the cons of using "Secure Merchant Id" over "Plain text email address"?

    Thanks for your help btw.

If you use the "Plain email" version, I think you get a few more options that aren't available in the Secure version. I'm not really sure. I remember doing a bit of research about this a while ago, and coming to the conclusion that I didn't care which one I used :D

    SUPER HOT MAGIC PONY TIP
If you want to make sure it all works nicely, ask a friend (or use your own alternate PayPal account) to click your links and go through the entire payment process (including paying) - you can then REFUND the transaction and NO PayPal fees are charged to anyone. It's a good way to iron out bugs, and make sure it all looks the way you want it to.
