Just wondering if there is anybody out there who 'gets by' without search traffic. By 'gets by' I mean having lots of traffic without showing up on Google Search. The problem with my niche is that it is so competative that I doubt I will every be on page 1 of google search. So I would like to know if I still have a chance of getting lots of traffic to my site.
You can't rank on page 1 or 2 in Google? Maybe you shouldn't be in this niche at all. What's the niche? Focus on the long-tail keywords. They are very targeted, less competitive and will bring you quality traffic.
Many sites are there and i know few, without search engine they get traffic but it all depends on how users remind your site and what is the use of your site to them
Most people in that niche are not getting traffic from SEO, for the reasons posted. But, regarding your page in particular I have a few comments: 1. There is not stated any clear reason for me to visit the site (except for making you more money). 2. The first page shows everyone how much you are Loosing on this site. 3. There is not a clear way that others can get a page like this and earn money. Tips: 1. Zero out the stats and start over. 2. Give people the offer of making a similar site for them (and link your sites together). 3. Set up a subscription form that people have to fill out in order for them to get info on getting a page like this, for free (collect e-mails). You wil need to MAKE AN OFFER, or there is no reason for people to use this site. If you need help with any of this, feel free to PM me as I am quite experienced doing the above Warmest regards, Victor A. Roestad
i will encourage you to write more articles atleast for the time to get more traffic from the artilce directories
Thanks for the suggestions. And the offer to help. I do appriciate it. Although I think you might be complicating things a bit. The website is nothing more then a simple content based website about making money online. The only difference between it and the hundereds of other ones is that it uses itself as an example. The target audience is people who want to start their own content based website. So basicly they would be doing the same things as me except theirs would be about hamsters (or someother content). All this website does is show how much work goes into it, costs, how the traffic increases, and what revenue strategies are being tried. A person who is thinking about creating a website about hamsters should be able to figure out wether it is worth all the effort for the possible gain. Regarding the fact that I am loosing money. That needs to be there. I can't zero that out. Because the fact is that I am loosing money and I did spend a lot of time on it, which so far is for nothing. The person creating the hamster website needs to know that that will happen at the begining.
Out of all the 9,977,798 posts, my posts had the dumbest question. That is something to be proud of. Looks like someone is having grumpy bear day.
Organic traffic from SE is targeted traffic and convert very well for affiliate programs. Yes, you can get lots of traffic without showing up on google search. Example, allow hotlinking if you have an image hosting site. But for what? You can't even earn a dollar from 100uv. Nothing personal, just my 2 cents.
yo can rank for 'make money online'. It will just take time, effort, and money. Start by building backlinks, and then concentrate on LOTS of unique content, added regularly.
Thanks for the advise. I will try to increase my rank. BTW, just out of curiosity what % of your visitors are from search?
Nothing is going to help that site in it's current form...In all reality there isn't much there for anyone. I don't care if you lose money, but I might care about what you did to lose money, what you spent money on, what worked and what didn't work, etc.
Some observations. Not sure if this item belongs on that page [Unless you brought it solely to develop your website ]. Better and even free alternatives exist. Or get a designer to do it for you. Waste of bandwidth. Startup websites don't need that much bandwidth. [There are cheaper or cheaper & better hosts as well] Did you use coupons? Tell you what, I will relieve you of your mega-loss making website [By buying it] and pay you 5$ for it as well . [Yes, I'm that good]
$5.00 - That just proves my grandmother was wrong. I can make money online. But I must not be greedy. Unfortunately I must refuse your offer. Thanks anyway.
I checked out your site and the first thought I had after loading the page was to hit the back button. I wanted to leave straight away because there isn't anything immediately interesting or eye catching. The menus/logos are quite bland, I didn't even notice the menu was there for a few seconds... You might think I'm an idiot & that might be true but this is probably how lots of your other visitors are reacting when they see your site. Stick up a question like "Do you want to see how the money is made in 5 easy steps?" or something exciting and unknown to keep my interest.
This is absolutely correct. Especially in a "niche" like make money (hard for me to call it a niche). There must be 50 million websites/blogs on make money, make money online, etc.... You can't use any kind of PPC without spending a fortune with key terms like make money. The make money product is not hard to sell, because the market is huge. Who doesn't want to make more money? If you want some simple, free ideas, pm me and I will give you 3-4 ideas that will get people to your site. To be honest though I don't know what they are going to do with it once they get there. For example: "Will I teach you how to make money with a website? No. This website only reveals how it makes money online. It is up to you to determine how the information is helpful to you. " This is in your about me page. Think of your website like a cylinder or an assembly line. You want to pass that traffic through a process, tell them what you want them to do. If you do not tell them they will probably not do what you want. Here your telling them the exact opposite of what they want to hear, they are probably going to leave (that is if they ever figure out to go to your about me page). Another example: "It is all about the content You will read it everywhere. In all the books and on all the websites about making money with content websites. For a content based website you need content. Lots of it. And good quality - something people would want to read. After all that is why people visit the website - to get something." That's great that you have content but you have to have content on the home page you are sending people too. Tell them to hit the "About", "Information", or "Participate" tabs. It is true that some will naturally hit these buttons, but most will simply hit the "back" button. If you want to keep the main index page clean then just add a quick 2-3 sentences with something like: "Learn what it means to have an online business by hitting the About or Information tabs above. If you would like to be a part of this experiment and get hands on with making money online then lets make some mistakes together and hit the Participate tab above." Again, your the creator of this website and you may have an idea of how you want it to go that is completely the opposite of what I have said above. You state in your information page that you have to have a business plan, I do not know what your plan is so take it how you will. Have a good one.
Hahah, grumpy bear day - gold. I get by with the majority of my traffic coming from social bookmarking. I do get some organic but only about 150 UV per day. Interesting site - cool concept.
