    Hi,
I have been running adword compaign for couple of months now and I realized that I need a good strategy rather than just watching my keywords that are relevant to the business
I am wondering whoever experienced can share his best knowledge on how to achieve and progress to the best please.
    much appreciated

Try running a few different reports, for example the "search query report" will give you a list of all the keywords that triggered your ads. You can then use this information to generate negative keywords to prevent irrelevant traffic coming through. It is also best to keep monitoring the bids to make sure you are reaching the 1st page and also to ensure that you are not bidding too high to be in top positions.

Try different ad variations also and compare which perform best.

Just try lowering your bids or...

Go into Campaign settings and activate position preference, then go back to your keywords and choose the desired position you would like to be in. For example, between position 3-8.

I have done this already but it doesn't guarantee you paying less, is there any combination where you pay less and being between 1-3 position?

Nope, perhaps choose position 2-3 or lower your positions even more while staying on the first page.

Only if you have enough stats to justify making that decision.

There's little point asking Positon Preference to list you in 3-8, if you don't actually know these are your best positions to be in.

My advice is only get into using that option, if you have enough data to back it up.

The first thing you want to do is get a quality score of 'Great'. This should be your first priority.

You get this by making sure that the keywords are relevant to the landing page. So if your keyword is how to lose weight, try and match your landing page as best as possible to this keyword.

you need a better quality score and you need to research some more long tail keywords if you want to be near the top without increasing your budget / spend
