Just wanted to let everyone know of a new feature that I added on the BeatEczema.com site. It is an exit confirmation box that offers the product at a discount. It only fires when someone tries to leave the page. Meanwhile, the discount page loads in the background. So far results have been outstanding. Many affiliates are seeing additional sales everyday. This does not affect the original product purchasers because they never close the browser. This captures sales from people who are leaving and never coming back. Here is a screen shot from a portion of today to show how well it is working. As you can see, the worst conversion rate is 1 in 34.
Damn I haven't made a sale on this yet although I've really only sent a handful of hops through but it obviously converts really well! I built an eczema site to promote it but people aren't clicking on the image of your ebook that I have used. Do you have any banners that are available for affiliates, I need to get more people clicking through. It's all a numbers game!
How many people leave your site, come back later and then buy? Google Analytics will give you some indication via how many visitors are "new". These people might end up paying less, but if the loss from that is less than the gain from people who wouldn't buy at all, you're onto a winner. I suppose a really good way of testing would be to compare the EPC/EPH over time with the two methods rather than conversion rate.
i think I made one sale with this product ... admittedly I did a kind of setup the page and forget thing, struggled to get traffic also ... but glad to see its working for some people ... and might be worth another attempt
As an affiliate, I would rather have the guaranteed commission now than the possibility of a commission down the road. Not to mention that even if a customer comes back they may just do another search and then a different affiliate would get the commission. However, the numbers are looking like they will prove a greater EPC. Here are 2 screen shots. The first is for a couple of weeks before I installed the script and the second is for after. You will see that after it was installed the $s per click have doubled.
Well hell... I may have to try this too I see you have a 3rd window where it pops up for an additional $5 off. How many people are buying each of the 3 versions? The full expense, the $10 off, and the $15 off?
In the last 3 days, there have been 13 of the $10 off sold and 6 of the $5 sold. This is 19 sales that affiliates would not have got. That was an extra $225+ for affiliates that they would not have earned. There were 29 regular sales at full price.
Interesting stats. So you're not seeing any decrease in the % of regular sales made? That seems hard to believe, if it's true then that is definitely awesome. Two things I'm wondering besides that: 1) Isn't it against Google's AdWords policy to have a site that has an exit popup? I suppose that's not that big of a deal as people should really be using pre-landers anyways. But just curious about that. 2) Is there any evidence of Google penalizing sites in their search results for using exit pop-ups? I'm working hard on getting my site in the search results and I'm getting a decent amount of natural search traffic to my site so I wouldn't want to do anything to piss them off. --- More relevant to your product: This seems like a great niche and I have a skin care site (mostly focused on acne but I have some other stuff on there too) that I'm going to promote this on. I'm assuming you tried higher price points before you went to $29.99 ?
It is actually not treated as a popup. It is an onbeforeunload command that was designed for sites that used forms for whatever info they were collecting. The window would confirm exit and let the user know that "all your data will be lost". You have probably seen them a 1000 times on bank sites, email sites even firefox uses one when you are closing multiple tabs. I have no idea how google would treat this specific script but I believe that it would have no affect. This is an educated guess and I have no data or information to back that up. Specific to my product: I did test it higher. The $30 barrier is tough to break in the health niche. Sales just stop. I have a new product coming in the next week that I am selling at $39.99 in the health niche and it is doing pretty good at that price point. I still have to test 29.99 and compare results. As far as hurting the regular sales, the only way it can hurt these is if you have someone leave and comeback. I have already expressed my feelings on this earlier. Good luck in your promotion. It is looking as if It may crack 40 gravity soon.
What is the refund rate of this product? As you are the publisher, you might be knowing the exact info.
That screenshot is pretty good. If you can show the same improvement after a similar number of hops, that's absolute empirical proof that it increases affiliate earnings. Which is great, congrats!
I have added some banners to the affiliate page. Graphics are not my strong point but I think they will do the job. www.beateczema.com/affiliates.html
Wouldn't that exit window be classed as a pop-up, and eventually be blocked by the pop-up blockers in firefox/ie?
No.It is not classified as a pop-up window. If browsers blocked, then it would also block any site that ask you if you are sure you want to leave because all your data will be lost. Banks, credit card sites, etc. Even firefox uses a form of one when you try to close a window with multiple tabs open.
You got a new affiliate man... I had checked your site and found some articles to re-write, Do you have more, I wanna give a big shot to this product say, 50 to 100 articles at once ..
