I have a blog that was using a favorite theme. Just recently I changed the template and started using this one. The traffic dropped and the SERPs were dismal. That was the fatal cost of changing the old favorite template. Anyway, please review this webhost blog whether the change was worth its dire consequences.
It was a sacrificial move. I am hoping for a rebound. There's always trade-off in every decision-making.
Honestly....... Sorry my opinion, it's a little boring. I'd be interested to see the old version. Best of luck with the site Cheers Samantha
You are entitled to your own opinion. No offense to me. It may look boring to you, but I highly consider the template the best for me. For now. This is the demo of the old template.
I really like the template, slick, stylish, yet simple, and easy on the eyes. I hope you see your old traffic & SERP statistics again soon, Bohol! Chuckun
Hi Chuckun, I have not lost my hope. That traffic had brought me small fortune from CJ and some Adsense windfall. Next time I won't change template again. Once it is installed, it should stay in the site forever.
It can definitely be effective moving things around, tweaking, etc... And usually it's possible to get away with template changes... But sometimes if the change is significant, it can cause visitor losses (just because it's not what they're used to), and certain templates can implement the SEO methods in place more efficiently. - However, this is to a minor degree. I am sure you will regenerate your usual statistics soon! And it is good to see you've not lost hope All the best Chuckun
I would remove most of that text below your site name in the header. Use a simple tagline (5 to 7 words) and and a larger font. There's also alot of empty space in the header. Add a few images and a logo.
Honestly, Your new template is nothing special - and the old template was slightly nicer, I'd say the move was not worth it. The text in the header is poorly located - you need to make the text box wider so that the text doesn't come all the way down like it does right now... it looks like a mistake. Also the right side of the header feels like it should have something in it... Also, I'd agree with the previous poster that a well coded template can make a difference in your SERPs, and that might also be affecting your results some... Personally, I'd toss both out and find something much better... or go back to the original. g'luck!
Your new theme is better than the old one IMO. You can shorten your blog description so that it will fill the space on header a little better. Another thing you can do is find a nice pattern to be used as your background image. Overall, yes I agree this new theme is better than the old one.
