    I guess they just make alot of subdomains...
    i use more subfolders myself, but might make a subdomain today now that im thinking about it lol

    I guess thats true. Yahoo have more visitors compare to Google.

    You can check it in Alexa but their Search engine is not as good compare to Google

    And that's the only reason they top on alexa rankings, cause all their sub domains brings traffic to one domain.

    Yahoo! have a hell of a lot of sub-programmes... This was the only chance they had of topping google... And in some departments, they top google (Yahoo! Answers etc..).. But Google is still the #1 SE imo.

    Well, from the first day Yahoo was introduced, they have continued adding newer better sections to their web portal for people from all over the world visiting and this means traffic.

    No wonder they have so many subdomains and they will continue doing this as they expand their web services.
