Help me think of a new domain name?

hey, I'm new to the forum and I love it.

Around a week ago I found the domain plagiarize.me was available and my idea was to make it a place to buy essays and so on and so forth. Then as I went to buy it, something had happened and godaddy didnt take my credit card. When I finally transfered some money to a paypal to go buy the domain, it was taken and the buyer is selling it for 3k. What a bummer :(

My new idea is a site for basically buy/sell/trade. Idk if it'll go big or if its a good idea, but I can't think of a good domain name that's available for it.

I would also like some feedback on the idea. :p

Contact me if you have any ideas :D

shame about the .me domain name, huh?

To find a good domain name first identify which keywords you're going to be targetting, then go to (http://)tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/ input the key words and start checking the most searched terms to see if the domains are registered (start with teh ones that at the top of the list that have the most searches).

    Good luck

If you are inviting people to name your business, you are also inviting them to register the domain themselves and take the idea.
Domains are a competitive business. Unfortunately it is the kind of thing that you keep to yourself, until you register it.

What ever is posted here, you can't get to a registrar fast enough if someone wants to steal it.

Take the advice of the previous poster, and get the best one available.

I'll do my best to think of a domain for you. I bet that godaddy registered the domain after you didn't buy it, I have heard numerous stories of this happening, that's why in future I will be using Namecheap. You are entering into a pretty competitive niche, and if I may ask, how much capitol do you have to spend on this venture?

Make it a .com if you plan on using it for commercial purpose.. This would definitely drive more traffic than the .me or .info type domains..

Ditto .com rules, especially if you want people to pay.

Searched on expired domains for your favorite keyword. You will find good ones.

True, but if someone thought of a good domain for me, they could also PM it to me :)

Thank you everyone for your wonderful advice and tips. I'm still thinking of the domain, but I dont expect to think of a good one in the next year or so. Took me a good 5 months of just sitting and thinking of a good domain name for the .me domain I talked about. :) thanks again

just follow the steps of some of the other posters in this forum and you might be surprised by what happens. And I think the buy/sell/trade website idea is far to competitive now, but if you really think you can compete, go for it I guess.

Yes, be VERY careful about this. NEVER enter a Domain at GoDaddy until you are actually ready to complete the purchase, because if you do not buy it after entering it in their system, there is a very real chance it will get registered within 24 hours. There are numerous reports of this across all domain forums.

If you need to check the availability of any .com, .net, or .org domain, use the Verisign WHOIS tool which is not compromised: http://registrar.verisign-grs.com/whois/

To get good and quality domain names I will recommend you to use expired domain softwares.

When I go to register at Godaddy, I make sure, I am logged into my account and there is money in mp pal, like others have said , if it is available buy it then, it won't be there when you get back

it stinks that plagarize.me was taken, but just because the guy wants to sell it for 3k doesn't mean it will sell for anything close to that.

agreed...a number of people have complained about their domains being snatched before they registered it!!!

But my point is...The DOMIAN is not yours until you pay for it...so technically its not right so say that my domain was sniped. :)
