I see many members with a lot of posts but they are "banned". What are some reasons that would happen?
My guesses: Spam Violated Forum Rules Asked to be banned (forum retirement) Banned is a member group for members with ridiculous post counts.
I suggest you read the FAQ because it seems there is a thread made everyday asking why members are banned. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/faq.php
Just a quick question here. After you posted that I reread the faq as I did when I first joined. I dont see a reason why the senior members that noel is mentioning would be banned. I assume they violated guidelines, but it doesnt make sense why such seasoned members would. I am curious as well.
The senior members aren't excempt from the rules and they also build up infractions. Not everyone is perfect and as some members are making so many posts it can be difficult to make sure 100% of them are within the rules.
Well if you check Top poster member list you will find members banned with 15K posts. So one can escape from rules. Most time people getting banned because of 7 Days banned by saying "I am interested" " Please send me PM"" etc. You may read more: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1179551&highlight=Banned
You are right buddy but remember you must not cross your lines if you are senior . Forum created rules for everybody not for juniors only . You can't say that they get banned at first time with small mistakes . I have done few mistakes and Moderators warned me first time and also told me that what was wrong and I should not do that again . If your mistake is small than they give you yellow or red rep first time but if you are senior and know all rules but not obeying them than just get kicked off .
Just read the rules carefully and follow them. This simple thing will never get you banned. I got infractions when I was new here because I never read the rules carefully. After that, I read all the rules and post meaningful posts.
I would say to my fellow new members of DP let's just not do anything stupid and we will be fine here.
