I think the internet will expand. People will access it on all types of portable devices, not just on personal computers. This happens now but it will become more common that devices you buy at Wal-Mart will access the internet.

    The internet will be everywhere.

    Agree with CandaianEh,

The internet will only get bigger with more platforms, more languages and generally more everything that already exists.

Because the internet enables people to do just about everything from the comfort of their own home. What it doesn't already enable , it will in the future. (IMO)

Think it about it expanding to the point that, Secondlife will involve putting on some kind of VR suit or headset so you can experience it almost for real. WOW will probably be another to expand to this point.

(I know the above sounds bizarre but remember when that dude said the not everyone would have a PC? my how he was wrong)

Portable devices will always be about and only get smaller. With more features and capabilities than ever before.

    .
    .
Or at least thats what i think.

The Internet is like the Universe. It will continually exapnd and expand. Could it one day implode? Sure, why not, but it's not likely. As long as people find a reason to go online, the Internet will expand.

So, we know it'll get bigger. But there's a million things that still can be done with the Internet. Think about 10 years ago, nobody thought we'd be posting pictures of ourselves onto a website and connecting with our friends online. So whats the next big thing?

I personally believe, and this is happening, that there will be a blur between the lines of online/offline. We've seen that come into play already with various programs demanding online capabilities and games coming out that are online only. Microsoft will aim towards an 'online OS' or something to that effect.

The next step will be the 'virtual desktop', an entirely online prescense for your computing needs, methinks.

I think the Internet will continue to evolve, and become more accepted/used for communicating and doing business.

Supposedly the "Grid" is going to replace the internet, and things like videos will be fully loaded the instant you visit them. That would be interesting, but I'm sure that eventually the internet will be a police-state and all of this work from home stuff will be put to an end. Governments & lobbyists are just dying to own the net.

This is a very broad question so to narrow it down to internet businesses

I believe there is and will be more and more usage of web 2.0 sites, videos and audio.

I am also a strong believer that automation software will improve many marketers success in making money on the internet.

I'd like to share a blog post on this issue

IMO,internet will keep on with time and will not less behind by time.
And i'm 100% sure that internet will bring more surprise in near future especially in medical field.
Of course, everything can be saturated but for internet this rule is non applicable.

The internet has a great futrure. The surge towards the internet is sustaining it and I feel its future is very rosy. Ten years ago it was not like it is today, there has been great improvement in all facets of the internet world. The future of Internet is realy promising.

I think that borders will become less defined. As connection speeds increase and more and more individuals from all over the world gain connectivity I think the Internet will continue to grow. We will get more insight into things like the Tibetan protests, North Korea and I think we will see more globalization.

As the real economy slows, the internet would slow down with it. I think like every other technology before it, it is overhyped. But I am not ruling out the level of development it has contributed globally. The major movers and shakers of the web...Google, MS are cutting down on staff and overheads.

The internet reached a new zenith, with the very effective way Obama used it to support his push for the presidency, that will not have gone un-noticed, and fully expect the net to flourish even more during the present economic downturn

As more and more companies realize the upside of net use to promote business and commerce
