Do .info names get crawled by Google?

I've got a feeling they do, but my newly bought .info isn't showing up in Google at all even with a new sitemap/wordpress backend and various backlinks.

Also is there a way to check if it's been banned/blocked by Google and how long does it take to be unbanned...

Not sure, but I think they (Google) are more strict at limiting crewling lately... strange. Out of resources?

submitting a sitemap is a good way to give google a list of all your pages... but the one and only thing that will get a site indexed is links to your site.

there is a small possibility that Google treats .info domains with some distrust, because they are heavilly abused by spammers, and rarely have any value, but I have a PR5 .info that does just fine. Dont rush, build good content and good links.

The domain name is not a factor that affects whether your site gets crawled or otherwise. Just be patient... meantime, work on to continue building the site.

Google doesn't discriminate on the basis of .info

They have much more precise ways to discriminate. :)

Do a search on Google: yourdomain.com
if it shows up you're not banned.

JMO but info domains seem harder to rank, did reach the first page for one, but not without a whole lot of trying with numerous info domains.

Thanks guys, I'm an experienced SEO for about 5 years so I know about building backlinks to it to get ranked...but I'm finding my .info's aren't ranked at all.

If anyone know's how to find out if it's blacklisted, one of the sites is:

    http://www.cels.info

Google discriminating against spammy .info's seems to make sense.

One thing which I'm doing is using Google Webmaster to contact Google about the domain, as it should of been listed by now so was perhaps banned because of the previous site owner (duplicate content, bad link neighbourhood or bad practices). If this works, I'll update this thread with the news.

Just like other said, irregardless of what extension of your site, it's the nature of your site that is being ranked. Just sticking up with Google guidelines along with carefully performing such optimizing method, soon your site will be shown up, be patient for the moment.

I think site age relates to Google's confidence in your site really. But if it's been blacklisted in the past, it may be crawled less?

Is there a way to check if it's been blacklisted?
