Hi DP members, I have been thrilled the last few days to see my earnings at over $50 per day, I know its not fantastic considering some sites earn so much more than that, but for me it is great. I'm concerned because my earnings are usually between $5 and $10 a day for the last 6 months. I've checked my stats and I am not getting click bombed and my CTR is pretty much the same. My sites traffic is 90% search traffic, the last few days I have been getting 5000 to 6000 visits from Yahoo Search which is a first for my site. Should I send the Big G an email covering myself from any potential red flags regarding my account or just sit back and enjoy all the new traffic from Yahoo? I can't help but be a bit paranoid when my earnings jump up so much, has anyone else experienced the same surge in traffic and earnings before? Thanks in advance for your input.
I had a similar uplift in traffic last week, all from Yahoo (thanks guys ) which boosted my adsense earnings by about 5 times. Unfortunately this dropped off again after about 5 days, but I think I know why and am trying to get Yahoo promoting my site once more. It's kinda ironic that Yahoo has enabled me to earn more with Google My advice would be to enjoy it while it lasts, and assuming your not using any black-hat methods, you won't get banned. Jon
Thanks jonbuoy, I agree, it is very ironic that Yahoo is helping us with Google I have no idea what black hat is and don't want to know, so thankfully that isn't an issue either.
Wow thats great, An email wouldn't hurt, but I don't think it is really needed. I think they know websites have highs and lows, too.
There's nothing wrong if you're getting traffic from Yahoo. As long as it's organic, you don't have to worry.
As long as you're getting high quality traffic from any of the major search engines, G will be happy.
if the traffic is natural and the ctr isn't too high than I don't think it should be a problem, congrats on the great earnings
what niche is your site on ? I noticed that one of my sites got a sudden surge in traffic and put it down to a few articles on the new president elect.
If you ever have any doubt or the slightest suspicion of click fraud, its a good idea to let Google know about it. Outside of that, if you are doing good logging, it should be relatively easy to figure out where the traffic is coming from, how you are getting it, and what keywords and or search phrases you've hit upon. Once you have that info, build on it, and make your earnings sky rocket!
No need to contact Google. They have all the traffic stats they need for your site to determine the traffic is legit. Enjoy those earnings!
Wow, that is a wonderful problem you have there. I wouldn't contact google about it, but definitely keep up the good work. Your niche must be working for you, so double your efforts!
WoW! I am happy for you for the new increase. What did you do to get the massive 5K - 6K traffic sent to you from Yahoo?
Good post. Being successful at anything usually includes trying stuff, finding what works and repeating and building on what works.
Your just getting a boost from Yahoo because one or more of your keywords started ranking higher in their index. Happens to me quite a bit. Sometimes the ranking sticks and sometimes it doesn't. Determine which keywords are ranking well in Yahoo and optimize them a little more to try and keep them there. Congrats on the surge TxDon
It is not neccessary to send a message to Google, as long as everything is legit you have nothing to worry.
