There may be many reasons but the major issue can be your updating, so that if you are updating new topics, or new contents... then just consider about your ads that they will show ads related to your content... and your content may be not included good paying keywords. by the way google is really decreasing revenue of click rate

Advertisers change from time to time when their campaigns end and that is why you see a huge decline in your earnings. Try a CPM/CPA network instead.

either you've been downgraded, and are getting less per click because of something you've done, or (more likely, we help a lot of clients who have done this since the new year) your clients are decreasing their max cost per click in order to reign in their google ad costs. The first case, you might be able to do something about. the second, nada, except get more clicks.

I've also facing the same problem here. But the drop is from the first of January 2009. December was a great month for me. I guess the reason is Google adsense serving not-so-targeted ads so the clicks lowered and the cpc of that not-so-targeted ads are low as well.

This might due to the recent change in google adsense system or maybe the Google Adsense bot is in the "drunk" mode so the ads served in our site worsen. well, I'm not sure about it.

If it's about crisis and resession, then why some publishers said they have a better income in Dec and Jan? It seems there are some certain popular niches (perhaps technology) that suffer on this problem...

Well due to low adsense earning i have decided to work extra hard and stop seeing the adsense account everyday. Will check it out once a week. Tats all :)

I also check it almost a week now. The earning is getting lower.
Perhaps I should cut my ads fee from $5 down to $1 a month to gain more my own advertiser's attention?

Same here for me with my jokesite I was getting about six bucks a day on 30 clicks now for the same amount of clicks is less than a buck. I started doing a comparison with adbrite last week I redid the whole site with adbrite published it last thursday getting only 19 clicks so far and for those clicks is 4.60 . I may just give up adsens all together.

Clicks are good but revenue is really going down in January :/ December was the best month for my site that I'm currently building... This sucks! I hope this won't continue too long.

Actually your clicks are NOT increasing, they are going down. Your CTR is dropping though not as bad as your ePC. (when you consider both of them, though, it really hurts the bottom line)

I would suggest taking a look at the types of ads showing up on your site, it could be that an infestation of low-paying MFA ads has set up shop there and needs to be cleaned out.

With the Holidays, December is not always a good indicator month, either.

me too. :( it's the economy. "they" need to fix it! especially since "they" seem to know everything, whoever "they" may be. keep your chins up and hang in there. It will get better.
