craigslist : 40-60 cents/post for service categories, 25-50 cents/post for other categories
kijiji : 18 cents per post
backpage : 10 cents per post

You are right. That's why my clients using my service over and over again! And I am on business for over two and half years because my service is of no good!! For your kind information, I have several clients who have been using my service for over two years.
I am posting successfully. This doesn't mean that each and every client will get success. Success depends on a lot of factors: your product/service, your pricing, your approach to clients, season of the year, design of your site and a lot of other factors.
Some people just try to advertise their affiliate link and when this fails they blame the advertiser. Success with affiliate product on craigslist is possible but you have to find out the product which is hot cake at that moment.

Yes you can put hyperlinks into any ad in any category. I post about 1400 ads per day and more than half of them use some sort of link directing people to a website. I wouldn't suggest using your own domain as it could lead to being blocked, but using a redirect in place will work fine. Using images also will work fine without a domain if you find the right image hosting locations. But using a good redirect will bypass all your problems, at least for me it does. And this includes For Sale, Services and even Jobs.

 

How do you redirect? I mean...tinyurl is not accepted on CL...so what else can you do?

 

tinyurl will not work but you can try other redirect sites. Try to use relatively new and unknown sites. Those are less likely to be already blocked.

Also you can use Free Dot TK domains.
