Hi, I suppose this is the right section to talk about it, if not, please move the thread mods. I need information about site flipping. Basically, I write content and I want to know how much would a good blog containint good content sell in the market? I am talking about fresh blogs but with researched and focussed content Waiting..
I wouldn't have thought they would be worth that much without traffic. If I were to do this then I would write articles (probably one per day on a certain topic - general blogs arn't great IMO), making sure I had a good ping list (to get traffic to the blog). All the time monitoring traffic. I'd probably stick some advertising up there (probably adsense to start unless the content didn't comply with their TOS), it might earn some money from the traffic - and if your doing this with 10 blogs at a time then it can add up. Then after about 3 months (after google PR has updated at least) i'd sell the blogs and start all over again (unless there was a specific blog that was doing really well and I decide to keep).
Generally fresh blogs have few takers and you have to wait for at least one PR update. With regard to the value for which you can sell the blog, it depends on the niche, traffic, number of backlinks, PR etc... BST forum in dp is the right place to sell or you can check the site point forum.
Here is my advice: 10 post blog = $75-$120 10 post blog + unique theme = $250 10 post blog + $30 revenue = $275 So yeah; I would recommend looking around the DP site section for some cheap sites with unique content and revenue. Then all you need to do is build it up a little more and sell it off
I've sold a few along those lines - figure about 5 or so total unique articles at sale time. No or very low traffic or income came into play. Domains were PR2-3 I believe at the time for most. They sold in the $250-350 range. Keep in mind though that I sell predominantly on the value of the content, and my rates at the time for custom work were around $.35 per word (so buyers actually got a big discount for unique work from me - whether you can do the same or not would depend on what your normal rates are and how big of a comparison your BIN is to those). I'm doing several smaller quick flips and one or two longer-term flips based on more than just content as examples for content writers specifically (showing an example of an additional revenue stream for them) at www.AllFreelanceWriting.com. You may want to check on some of the posts there in the "making money" category - I'll be picking up on those more in February before actually selling.
