What is more effective for SEO?

I have begun working on my own little web project, and have just recently acquired all the domains for the name im going to be using -.com, .net, .org, .ca, .biz .

The website will have several features, which may include a blog, forum etc.

Now what im wondering is if it is better for SEO to have each website feature on its own domain ex the forum will be at mydomain.net, the website hub will be at mydomain.com, and the blog on mydomain.org and have them all linked together or is it better to have all the features on the same domain and have it like mydomain.com/forum, mydomain.com/blog and simply have all the other domains forwarded to the .com?

    Thanks in advance,
    Anthony T.

I'd like to suggest to put all related content under one single domain, like your examples on sub directory placements for blog, forums, etc.

One advantage I see is that all who link to your site won't refer to many domains but to only one.

If you got the other domains then what you can do is do a 301 redirection towards your chosen domain that will contain your desired content.

    Glad to be of help.

From the search engine point of view I'm sure that sub domains are more favorable than sub-directories..Am I not correct?

No, I think sub domains are better than sub directories for a large portal

Using subdomain is good if your primary site has good popularity.

So you are going to see how the bux.to thing goes, where the forums are buxbb.com, bux.to is the main site, etc?

If you are, good luck, but I don't think it will benefit you (or not enough to cover the extra cost of the domains).

it would be nice to get related features under a single domain as getting all the features which are all from different niche will hurt your ranking or even it would be difficult to optimize it......

I think a sub directories would be better as it increase your website pages,
Sub domains are like a new website and we have to repeat entire seo process for that like a domain. If you have a good PR website with good ranking and popularity. Then you can go for sub domain. Its fine

Most Search Engines give more preference to .com domain while any search query is passed. You should use only one domain covering all the things that you have stated here. Or you can create a sub domain for each within your domain name only or you can create web page for the same.
