Does anyone have a network of same NICHE sites - is this good?

    I am wondering is it really that much better/profitable to have a bunch of sites that are all in the same NICHE - does it seem to help rank better, make more $$$

    Who has any experience in this - YES OR NO to building a network of a single NICHE?

    I have many websites, but most of them are in different niches. However, I have 3 websites in the same Niche and they are all in top 10 for the same keyword. From my experience, it is a great method because many people look throught many websites before they decide to buy the product you promote.

    I agree with Loren,
    It makes sense to have multiple webpages in same niche.

    Most of the people I know diversify, but I think owning multiple sites in the same niche can make sense if they all have unique spins on the niche. You might have a content site, a blog, and a forum, for example. But I don't know that having 3 blogs all about something like fly fishing would make sense, because you'd be spreading out the content. Google loves big sites, and spreading the content out would make it harder to be the type of big site Google loves to much.

    Diversification is a good thing. You shouldn't have all of your eggs in one basket.

    However, having multiple sites within each niche is optimal.

    i do cover one specific niche with multiple sites. however, they are all independant sites not linked to one another having their own seo and link building campaign. its not a good idea to have lot of sites in the same niche and have heavy interlinking which will give google idea that they are all networked sites. you can link from site A to site B to site C but most likely you will have same IP for all sites so they will be considered as networked sites as well.

    I have about 50 sites. I find it more profitable to build a "niche farm", meaning I build my main "money site" and use 3 or 4 other sites (blogs) to feed traffic to that site. I use social sites to do the same thing. It does help your traffic to do this.

    I have a few sites in my niches with exact match domain names for long tail keywords. It is a highly effective SEO technique (for long tail k/w anyway) and these sites need little promotion to rank for that K/W. I then link to my main sites from these.

    As far as short-tail keywords are concerned, I wish I could use the same techniques but the domains are usually very expensive to buy.

    It is alot better for seo to have sites in the same niche backlinking to eachother.
    Why? Let me explain with an easy example:
    If you have 3 sites from another niche linking to eachother:
    Computer -> Pets -> adult
    Or u have 3 sites from the same niche:
    Animals -> Dogs -> Labrador

    If u now search dog u will find the 2nd example on first spot and the first example on page 400 orso
    Wich is normal, dont u think? Example 2 got far more value then example 1 for every searchengine

    Having many sites in the same niche (and different class-C IPs) will help you for SEO.
    Just do not interlink them excessively and you will soon dominate the niche.
