Is DP loosing traffic/memebers?

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by gorgeous, Jan 16, 2009.

its been a long time since i have been active at DP, but 1 or 2 years ago there was much more life here right? I remember posting stuff i the freebie section and 10 minutes later it was on page 3. Now when i post something 10 minutes later its still the first post with no reply's.

What u guys think about this? Not only freebies section but all sections seems to be so quiet.

It happens, from time to time there will be quieter periods. I still find DP to be very busy though, It's the only forum that I can't keep up with the new posts. On other forums I tend to look at nearly all the new posts, on here it's just impossible to keep up with.

Also you have to remember, as time goes by the spammers and scammers are gradually being fazed out, which could also be a reason. Definitely less spam and scam here than there used to be. Mods are doing it right I guess :)

I notice that it's this way on a lot of forums right now. I think maybe it's just a slow period for a lot of forums?

More new forums are up now, so they split visitors or maybe DigitalPoint is banning it's members :)
Still this is a very busy forum, it's not possible to check out all the new posts.

The freebie section has become a lot stricter with the banning of bumping etc. so that might be the reason your thread has remained up the top.

Recession takes its toll on each and every segment of the life. Due to decreased level of earnings, people are probably trying to concentrate more on offline businesses.

I doubt it's loosing traffic or members.

Although I am not as active as I once was here (I have other things taking priority), I still participate where I want to, and I still keep track of a bunch of threads that I find interesting (e.g. the pics thread). I'm sure other members who arn't as active now are the same.

Right now i am more focused on business so not much time to chit chat here :) And this time of the year puts people in a "introspective" mode so, its normal less users active here.

Yeah, looking at stats we clearly see when the new 7 days ban rule was inserted at DP.

dp has different level of surfers. also many new forums are opening

but the point where dp lack is support, dp has no support desk, and at some point i have seen that many people claiming that they got infraction point for useless things, even i feel same about infraction, some mods here are too much aggressive

but i still love dp , though i don't earn anything but its good place to learn and to get new info and also you can get connected to whole world webmaster here, its good place and im sure it will remain No1

I spent my first days/weeks as a webmaster right in here at DP learning, testing and giving up just to test again. After a year or so i decided to join in and another year after i was making 2K per month just with Adsense.

I recognize some of the most interesting users i met here went away to another forums but almost everyday we can check at DP some great tips, good infos and eventually some secrets.

Only a dumbass will miss the opportunity to be here learning, testing and making cash.

Just a quick edit about Mods.

Yeah not easy for them and not easy for some users. I did get banned once for bumping and rude comments. Shit happens. Live with it and move on. :)

If so, I believe it has to do something with recently changed DP rules.
