How soon will a site's PR be updated?

I suppose that PR updates once in 3 months. But my question is, I am increasing backlinks to a site. And if there are 2 more months for the Google PR update, then I'll see my PR only after 2 months? Until then, the PR will remain the same even if backlinks are developed?

    Yes, you are correct.

However, Google has an internal PR that they also use. In this sense your PR will be updated, but the PR seen by everyone else will remain the same until the next big PR update.

thanks both of you :). I have another different doubt. Why does a site's PR reduces when Google PR update? Will it be because of the page's incoming links are deleted? Or the link source is changed into NoDoFollow? Or because of the link source page's PR is reduced? Or any other reasons?

Your actual PageRank varies every day. But Google export it once every 3-4 months.
So you have nothing to worry about. Google take into consideration your links as soon as they find them.

Let say you submitted your site to Digg. Since Digg is a very established & trusted site it will be crawled soon after that and Google will notice your link.
If a brand new site link to you, it might take up to 1-2 weeks for Google to find that link.

G will find your links as you get them, the Toolbar PR will now show update for a couple of months, but the Internal PR algo they use is constantly updated for their use and SERP standing.

So, even if the page doesn't show PR, it still helps in SERP?

Of course. It would be insane to export the real PR every day. Google doesn't have so much resources. Nobody has.

I have noticed, If a new site has few good quality backlinks than google update its PR from N/A to PR0 even with in a month, but not more than that for actual PR to have to wait for 3months.

Well not exactly 3 months. Sometimes, the update arrives earlier than that. Just like the recent update, by end of the year (I think it is around 29th December 08. My guess for next update is anytime during March.
