Is more fresh content will give huge traffic or optimization (bookmarking, submissions, blog comments posting ) will give more traffic?

 

You should always concentrate your first efforts on producing the best unique content you can to post on your site. That is the most important part. After that you will want to use the social bookmarking services to help promote that content.

The search engines are most interested in indexing quality unique content as are the bookmarking sites and all other sites online. "Content is King" for a reason and that reason will never change.

So creats unique content and promote it using article directories, social bookmarking, and news submission sites like Digg.

 

If you can't crank out 1-2 QUALITY posts per week, then don't even bother trying to gain traffic.

If your site consists of rehashed content, rewritten content, or non-unique content that's available in 100 other places on the web, then don't even bother trying to gain traffic.

Content is what will bring you traffic. Maybe not today, but in the long run it is what matters. Good traffic will create its own backlinks - which will create its own traffic.

Depending on the age of the site, I would suggest concentrating on fresh content.

 

Fresh new content is best. And I agree with the gyst of the previous post. You need to post consistently with fresh content.

 

Both, I think. Decide the % for yourself, i.e. don't give 100% time to create content, instead 40% for content and 60% for optimization!

So the wise decision would be fresh and unique content.

Fresh content usually works best for me. I don't do a lot of social bookmarking and things like that. A little, but it's not my main strategy. I just blog and ping. People say it doesn't work anymore, but it does in my experience.
