Does a link in your forum signature really have much weight with Google? We all have signatures because they cant hurt and we want our peers to know who we are but how much do they really help with SEO?
DP signatures show up very quickly in Y! and G as a backlink, even with very few posts, so I believe it does help. Forums with less weight are probably of little use.
Forums are a quick way to build lots of backlinks. I started building backlinks on forums about a couple months ago and have seen some success with it.
I've noticed that too, DP is crawled really well. I think it's helpful to have forum links, but it shouldn't be the core of your strategy.
forum will help you a lot... but i will take a look what script they use.... like DP using vBulletin and have a good index by google...
I created a new page a few months ago: http://www.uniquewebsites.co.uk/unique-websites-about/about-unique-websites.htm It has signature links and links from 5-6 unrelated websites that I own. It's now pr1. So - I would say - signature links do some good.
Yes google easily crawl and indexed forum that's why it can considered as a good source of backlinks same as social bookmarking
It means a lot in SEO. Just make sure it is from forums that has do follow attributes. When you do it properly with your targeted keywords, search engines will bump up them on search results. No follow forums are almost useless, so don't waste too much time on them.
It will help in SEO but remember that easier you get your back link the less weight Google is putting on it.
you can convert it a lead genration stream if you can hit a perfect place. Forum can give you traffic, reputation, reference link, sells, link back. Yeh it is not passing PR as per my observation cause i am having thousands of link back (signature link of course) but i dint find any increment in PR after it.
hi, I had noticed that the signatures in forums as shown as backlinks more in yahoo faster than google.it will show as backlinks in google but where the forum is of good quality and dofollow.
Yes, you can get backlinks from forums especially those from well-established webmaster forums like DP. I have noticed this when I check my site's backlinks.

Yes, they do help. You should change up the anchor text in different forums though it will be more "natural appearing".
