i believe a site that i'm maintaining is currently banned by google. i wrote to google at and about a wek ago but have not gotten any reply besides the automated response informing me tht they got my email. anyone here tried contacting google before and did they ever get a reply?

the site is a blog. i did not have any comment spam protection on and the blog was full of comments linking to poker sites - must have been so for about 2-3 months before i found out and removed all the comments. all comments are to be moderated now. the blog has been around for about 6 months now and has been pr 0 since the day it started. msn and yahoo bots have been visiting but 0 visits from google...

no it's not. the one i have in my sig is handcoded - not using any scripts.

the one that is affected actually belongs to my wife.

Yeah, my account was disabled too.. and I have emailed them and emailed them, with no reply.

They don't really care about small publishers...

(But, when I emailed them to report a site that was clearly violating adsense TOS, they replied withen minutes :p )

well chrissicom, at least you got a reply from them.

i sent them an email to ask if my site was banned, and if so, was it because of the comment spam which i have since removed... no reply...

I wonder if google has an algo to find KWs in letters, and queries the canResponse database if it's not it Google's interest. :)

same here, they just don't respond...
your best bet is to move all content to a new domain and IP. since your content isnt spidered anyway it shouldnt be filtered for duplicate content. in my case, it worked.

I've written to Google before and never received a reply. however i do know people that have applied for reinclusion and it's worked, though it always seems to take a long time. I'd give it at least a month before writing again.

Yes there is hope. I remember with the recent TrafficPower problems lots of sites got reincluded after explaining the situation. I'd just be honest, admit you/they made a mistake, explain why and outline the steps that have been taken to rectify the situation.

It may be an idea to start builing an 'insurance' site in case you don't hear back or don't get re-indexed. Be careful not to link to the old site and to avoid duplicate content.

    yes it does work

I was "banned" from Mid Dec and have been re-included

Put in "reinclusion request" in the subject line

And CLEARLY say what you have changed (and say you have made mistakes, you have cleaned up your act, read and implemented their webmaster guidelines and wont do it again)

Be trueful and clean up your site

    >>I've done thing the google has said not to do and they still list me

What do you mean by this?

Using shady methods with Google often works in the short to medium term, but it's not the way to go about building a long term business. Sooner or later you'll get reported/caught

I've written to GG several times and have always received an answer.

I have "rescued" banned sites for clients and have re-indexed many domains purchased after expiration, which were also de-indexed.

I guess it depends on what and how you ask things from them.

Just because they are an authority don't assume they have the "obligation" of looking after your problems or concerns. They are just regular people who have to get up early, go through an awful amount of traffic jams or crowded buses, and see how they're going to pay the bills at the end of the month.

Keep this in mind when you write to them and just don't ask them to do for you anything that you wouldn't consider doing for someone you don't even know or care about.

    Just my 2 cents.
