Hi, hope this is the right place to post...

I have an old blog and website that I have just deleted, as I am moving over fully to two such blogging sites. I am wondering if it is ok to copy and paste my old articles to my new blog? The thing that I am not sure about is duplicate content from my old pages. Although these pages are deleted, they are still listed in the search engine and are obviously still cached. I am unsure if this would flag up or not? Is it best to just start over with the articles or re-word etc, or should I be ok to post them up?

    Many thanks.

Go ahead this will not be a problem. Once Google knows your old site is gone it will de list your old articles and relist your new ones.

You should be fine if the older pages have been deleted.

If the old blog had ranked or respected pages in Google's index I may consider permanent redirecting those pages to the new blog pages.

Instead of deleting those old pages, you should redirect them to your new blog using L301 redirection ;)
However, now if it's deleted it won't pass any linking value.. but the content still useful after all.
