These include * Tea, coffee, cocoa * Junk foods and fast foods * Egg yolks * Butter, cheese , shrimps and meat * Coconut oil * Cashews almonds and other nuts * Beverages including soda, chocolate drinks and soft drinks. * Sugar * Alcohol Any one here have an idea? suggestion are welcome.
The amino-acid Tryptophan is available (either on prescription or over the counter) in many countries as an anxiolytic, sedative, minor tranquilliser. It's also available in many foods, especially meat. Turkey has the highest concentrations of it (one reason why Christmas dinner can make people feel sleepy). It certainly relaxes people a bit.
no no no for me.. I feel sleepy after I ate too much. but yes pampering your self can be the best thing to lessen your stress..
You can try pongal...Its an south indian dish.... Also, chocolates... Heard that it is comparable to having sex.... feel good factor...
Yep I agree with that. Or a bowl of super chunky soup, with crusty toasted bread and heaps of REAL butter.
Chocolate is an answer...but only the bittersweet one which has the biggest concentration of cocoa...I'm talking about magnesium and potassium which calm down the nervous and also the muscular system. Bananas are great, because eating them the brain secretes a lot of serotonin which make us happy It's well known the fact that eating a banana everyday for a whole month it reduces depression... Outdoor activities are amazing, because of the effort the organism secretes endorphins which also contribute to our calm state of mind
The absolute best thing for stress, is adaptagen herbs such as suma, jiaogulan, schizandra and if you find good ginseng then ginseng but its impossible to find proper quality.
The Turkey thing is a wives tale. While turkey does contain L-tryptophan, there are many other things at the Thanksgiving table that could cause the same affects, including the overall feast itself. Anyway, for L-tryptophan to truly have this affect it has to be ingested on an empty stomach and without any other amino acids or protein in order to make you drowsy. There's lots of protein in a serving of turkey and again, it's probably not the only food on the table. What's really making you tired are the combination of things. Over eating, drinking alcohol and of course the fats and fatty foods that take your digestive system a lot longer to break down. I'd say the L-tryptophan in Turkey has about as much affect on your sleepy feeling as man does on the position of the stars. Heck you could skip the Turkey all together and still feel drowsy. I think it is worth noting that other foods, like Chicken for instance have a lot more L-tryptophan than Turkey does, and how many times have you complained of being sleepy after eating some KFC or PopEyes? The Turkey thing is bunk.
I hope your kidding, jiaogulan alone has improved my digestion, adrenal glands, energy, skin and this is coming from someone with diagnosed chronic fatigue system. Their are many beneficial herbs out there. You just have to look at echinacea and its effects on the immune system.
Good call, green tea is rich in antioxidents but for this case its also rich in an amino acid named l-theanine which helps anxiety and stress.
