What do you mean by that?

You don't have to be a genius, but I don't quite agree it's all about hard work either since that implies just grunting instead of thinking. Some people are in it in order to avoid the boring routine grunt work and actually do something they're passionate about and create something they believe in.

A lot of web masters probably are lazy and points by Kinkyjoe are well taken, but laziness doesn't necessarily only refer to laziness to work, but also laziness to think for yourself.

Smart man once said: Think and Grow Rich.

And you know what? I actually wish as many of you to really become rich because that's what helps the economy and ultimately me too. I don't need money to make money. I need other people to have money to make money. :D So go and make some!

Which affiliate program are you in? And I think we have some paid to post forums in common, what about the paid to review site? What is the rate for one review? Thanks and good day!

    I found an easy way....

My QuickBooster method is an "easy" way to get traffic!

But I do agree with you, most webmasters are lazy and they know what they need to do, but they just don't do it!

Interesting question. Based on my observation and I am sure that a lot of Internet marketers will agree with me, most bloggers associate themselves into socializing rather than finding potential customers. They love to join tons of social sites, and gaining friends. They love to leave comments on blogs even if that blog is not the same as their niche.

The recent poll of Darren Rowse showed that there are more bloggers who are not making good money than those who are. And the same results occurred even in his last two polls every year - http://www.problogger.net/archives/2009/01/02/how-much-money-do-bloggers-make-blogging/

So, why is it happening? Is this because of the poor economy? Or is it because they fail to reach out for the targeted customers? I think the latter question can provide the more relevant answer.

Am I discouraging bloggers? Or am I encouraging them to change their strategies? Internet marketers also have blogs, but their blogging techniques are different. They are not just looking for friends and followers, they are focused on finding potential customers.

And they are doing that by going to relevant places doing relevant things.

I'd bet on the latter too GuardianAngel. I'm likely to start a blog myself and I hope for big money despite the fact that blogging does not seem to be a "fastlane" towards money and I think my mentality is slightly different. I'm not crazy about social networks or commenting to other people so much. I think the key is to strike a vibe with your content. One example, which I hope to reach, is a combination of being useful, unique and perhaps slightly controversial - basically creating an image of your blog as something truly new, not just another in a row.

That would be a way to gain attention and traffic. Then a way to monetize it is to, aside from "classic" adsense and text link ads, also add targeted affiliate products, like books on the subject relevant to your blog. At some point I might even compile a book of my own to sell as well. That's basically combining a blog with a sale site, without the whole sales pitch since instead of the sales pitch you've got the blog's content and built up user experience around it.

Besides, there may be a kind of false dichotomy going on between a "web site" and a "blog". Blog is a content web site too. You mentioned blogs by other internet marketeers as being different and defying the quoted trends, but if you look at it without that blog vs. other web sites dichotomy it makes a lot of sense.

Statistics might as well say that most web sites aren't making much money and might be right about that. What applies to blogs probably applies to the whole web in general.

Traffic is the key ladies and gentlemen. If you work hard enough and stop being lazy you'll get traffic. Once you get the traffic their are a lot of ways to monetize it. If the traffic is targeted its a whole lot better but if its not you'll still manage to make some good money, you just need to find the right affiliate.

Everyone knows that money can be made from a website, everyone knows how to make the website or the blogs, but the problem is regarding traffic..
How to get traffic, is the key.
If you are having traffic like 10000 UV a day, then you can earn with whatever you have on your website.

I agree completely. In fact, until recently I was one of those. I'd buy the "latest craze," read it, get bored, then move on to the next "greatest opportunity ever".

I finally realized that the ONLY way to make money online is to WORK FOR IT. Making tons of money is not easy. You have to be willing to invest both time and money into your endeavors.

    FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!

Stop being distracted by all the flash and hype, choose your product, and give it all you've got.

...and watching old episodes of South Park while contemplating whether to write the next article or ad is NOT an example focus:D

Thats ture .. most failures come from laziness .. :) But, its not as easy as mentioned.

Its not just choose a niche and go ahead .. :) some niches are highly competitive and the probability that you will make money out of it is so low ! Take the search engine niche for example .. :) Its already been monopolized by google, yahoo, MSN and Baidu.

Think about it ... you (alone) can't compete with companies that have more than 20 thousand brilliant minds working on a single search engine .. :)

this could be any more clear. It's true. Most of the webmasters try a easy way.... if there is one. I think that if we would start small, and reinvest a decent amount of our earnings back into our sites, then things will get EASY after a while.

I'm currently averaging $100 a day from 3 websites. I'm currently trying to reach $100 daily with each one, which will be $300 daily.

Content is king so focus most of your time on that, but don't forget the other stuff, after all its no use having great content if no one find it!
