How do you find products by coversion rate? I was looking for products that converted around 1:40 or less with a medium gravity. Thanks
If only it were so simple! Test it yourself or ask others, usually high gravity non IM products are that way because they convert fairly well.
Testing. I haven't found that gravity is a very good indicator of conversion rate really. I've had extremely low conversions with some very high gravity products and very high conversions with low gravity products. There's just so many variables to consider. There's really no easy cut & dry answers to questions like these.
You will have to test it out yourself no matter what. Because it's really not the product which converts but how you market it. Your ways of marketing will mainly determine whether a specific product will convert for you or not. I have gotten sales on products which have almost next to none gravity just by using some effective marketing tactics. Therefore anything will convert as long as you understand the end user psychology. It's very interesting to study how people think and why they do certain things and why they avoid certain things. Therefore try to learn some marketing techniques and you would have no trouble selling not only on clickbank but other networks too.
eene...meene...minee...moe... works as well as anything else. I 100% agree with ryanman. What converts for some people will not convert for others. I have affiliates that convert at better than 1 in 20 while some struggle to get 1 in 100. There are so many variables involved...
How about products that convert 1:40 via redirect. In other words, items that convert at that rate straight from the products sales page?
In that case your ad or resource box does the selling. I can tell the customer you will lose 100 pounds in 100 days when the sales page says you will lose 30 pounds in 100 days. This is where the user interest gets lost and you will lose a lot of sales. Be targeted...And tell the customer what he is about to see and see your sales soar. Here is an example which gets a lot of sales for me. For example a sales page mentions- Guaranteed ways to lose weight within 10 days....The most vital piece of information in this area is bla bla bla. So I make an ad which goes- Guaranteed ways to lose weight within 10 days....The most vital.... And do not complete the text. With the additional "..." after the text the customer reads for sure and follows through. This has been a very effective strategy Ive used for several yrs now with definite success.
Don't look for products with high gravity or anything like that. Instead, take your time to research supply and demand. Find out what products clickbank offers, and find out what people want. Then add the two together. If you find people trying to find out how to train their birds to talk and no competition, try to market that.
I also did this research to really find out what sells and what does not. So I tried 3 different marketing techniques with different landing pages for a certain product. One page got real great conversions...One got average and the other got almost next to none conversions. Then I tried direct linking....And in that case the conversions were low too...I realized that the reason why direct linking did not work was because the merchants landing page wasn't that good. He was using very average call to action which didn't really amuse the visitor much and that's where my pre-sell worked well. So the tip here is simple...If the merchant has a strong call to action...Direct linking would work very well but if he does not...Then use a pre-sell. Also relevance is another big factor. You can not tell the customer that he is going to see a miracle diet and on the sales page it says selling ab machines. So be as targeted as possible.
There are dozen of ways how to find them... First of all that product really need to look good, design is very important as well as sales letter, if you found some products who design caught your eyes and when after reading all sales letter your mind was like stolen, then yeah that product will convert... then you need just to make a test, to see how it's converts! I think gravity is not so important factor!
You can't exactly say, how the product is going to convert, but gravity is a good indicator. Usually anything over 100 is pretty decent. However, don't forget that the product is only part of the story....There are lots of factors, which have effect on the conversion rate, such as keywords, traffic quality, landing page, etc.
I think the best approach is to see it as a customer. Look at the design, read the sales pitch, check out the actual product. If after that you think you would have purchased the product and not asked for a refund you should begin testing. Now as an affiliate it is your job to come up with creative ways to drive targeted traffic to the publisher's site. Remember to look for a publisher that has good support, someone that if you have a question or concern will reply quickly. That will also give you an insight to how the publisher is treating customers. The better the support usually the lower the refund rate is. Hope this helps a bit. Cheers! Gabe
Well said. I have had good sellers with products < 5 gravity. In saying that though, I wouldn't opt for a product with < 1 gravity!
