FinancialBlogSearch.com is a simple site I built last year to support my own financial blogging. It operates as the front end for 2 Google Custom Search Engines for financial blogs.

When the site was first launched, many top tier bloggers gave it positive coverage and backlinks. That's probably why it is now a PR4.

The 2 CSE's focus on highly lucrative areas of blogging -- trading and personal finance. Because of this, the search page results are going to frequently have high-priced ads on them. Searches for forex or gold stocks or trading systems or mortgage refinancing will bring up high CPC ads along with the results, which means more profits for you.

This site was never promoted, but has earned nearly $200. With just a little effort that can be doubled or tripled. I will keep a link for 2 years free of charge on my highly-trafficked PR4 trading blog, http://microcapspeculator.net

Revenues could be increased by placing more ads on the front page, where most of the organic traffic is directed. I had only one affiliate ad up there, for only six months, but it earned me $100.

The domain can be immediately transferred to the buyer, along with the html for the front end (which you will probably want to update). Google will not allow the CSEs to be transferred outright, but I will add the buyer as a "collaborator" so you can copy the settings into an identical CSE but tied to your Google account and Adsense. Also, you will want to supply your own hosting account or host it on google sites. I currently have the name forwarded to google-hosted pages.

1. Adsense for search. You get credited for click-throughs on the search results pages. $83+ from this last year.

2. Affiliate ads or other ads on the front page. I didn't do much with this but I did place a web hosting ad on in August, that earned $100.


Google pages does not provide hit counts or unique visitors. However, I can tell you that the two CSE's received 7,579 unique queries so that could be used as a rough proxy.
