Presumptuous! Not all Israeli businessmen (or every plain civilian Israeli citizen for that matter) who joined the elections voted for their current
government officials, unless there is proof that the present administration was
voted 100% by all of Israel, which is statiscally impossible; always there are
opposition in government, and these people, however numerically few, almost always do not favor everything that government undertakes, much less
warfare against another supposedly independent state. And the same logic
applies not only also with the Palestine government, but on all the other
    nationalities all over the world.

The universality of love and compassion is indisputable; if every single state
anywhere in the world is sincere enough in adherence to the tenets and
principles of peaceful co-existence, then no trouble would have erupted
between Palestine and Israel, Iraq and America, Afghanistan and the world.
We would have been treating each other as brothers and sisters with one
common "terrestriality" under ONE SUPREME GOD, whatever and however each one of us conceive Him to be.

They already did, it's called Israel. I do not oppose a Palestinian country though, if you find a place which doesn't take land from a different country. If you want to form a Palestine on Gaza strip - be my guest.

Talk about "big bro", let's wait and see what the next scenes will be
when president-elect Obama assumes office on January 20, 2009. Perchance
the "Why now?" would be resolved on the timing and intensity of Israel's
push against the Palestinians all of a sudden after some time of peaceful
tolerance and co-existence, albeit tentative and temporary.

Ever heard of the old Old Testament? That's thousands of years. Israel was there long before your time. Jews lived in Jerusalem for thousands of years. The country of Palestine, quite simply, never existed and there is no "liberation" of something that doesn't exist. This lie is one long, ongoing violent commercial designed to make you believe that the product you're buying isn't really terrorist organization that it is... Nobody stopped the "Palestinians" from calling Gaza whatever they want to call it but that's not enough. Hamas wants to wipe Israel off the map and replace it with their own modern invention. Perhaps suicide bombing will be a sport in the next Olympic games.

There were OTHER people living there before Israelis, I'll get you the name of that civilization.

Ya, Israel was there, but it wasn't the first.

I don't hear any "prior inhabitants" from thousands of years ago complaining and you can't even come up with a name. As such, if the Jews have been there for thousands of years and are the oldest claimholders, your argument is toast. And afterwards, you can give back the entire land of American to the Indians. As opposed to the Jews, the Indians roamed free in the US just 500 years ago.

But the point is more about how can people live together in peace in general. The problem is that almost 1 million Jews were expelled from the Arab nations in the 20th century. There are no equal rights. Where were these people supposed to go? Well, Iran, Iraq, Syria, etc. were all too happy that they were dumped into Israel. So where are you crying for the rights of these people?

So what's the situation? Until someone forces Iran, Iraq and the rest of the Arab nations to provide equal rights and restore the land and ownership to Jews, Christians and other non-Muslims, you've got an impasse. Why can't the "Palestinians" live in Iran, Iraq, Egypt which is literally hundreds the times the size of Israel? Well, technically they can. But none of those countries want to take in these Palestinians either. They know what militant Hamas is capable of and is just happy that they've got their missiles pointed at the current hatred, Israel. They hope that the Palestinians end up just taking over Israel and never being their problem. Egypt closed its own borders to Palestinian refugees during this self defense initiative against the missile shooting Hamas terrorists. Pretty disgusting world we live in.

There isn't any easy answer here. The Israelis don't care to kill people any more than the typical, freedom loving American. But they are backed into a tiny country with nowhere to go any more. The middle east is off limits to Jews. And until the world and these Arab nations unite together to decide to care more about human life in general than about individual wealth, peace isn't going to happen. And with our own "trillion dollar bailout plan" that has hundreds of millions of dollars going to private industry like "auto racetrack building" and the "wooden arrow" industry, there is waning hope for humanity.

They are called "Can'aanites" and they were polypantheists. They were related to the Phoenicians, who invented the Alphabet and pioneered shipbuilding.

Not only Israeli products, but also U.S...

The US House of Representatives has voted to endorse a resolution backing Israel in its offensive in Gaza, in which at least 800+ Palestinians have been killed. The body passed Friday's resolution "recognizing Israel's right to defend itself against attacks from Gaza" by 390 votes to five. This means almost 99% of the US House of Representatives are supporting the Israel without any condition.

Amanamission: Over the past 60 years the Middle East and much of Africa, have had to be the most troubled, violent, strife torn parts of the world. At least the Middle East has been blessed with abundant oil. Unfortunately the wealth in the land, and among those Arab/Islamic people that argue for Arabic/Islamic brotherhood, do not in fact act on behalf of the Palestinians. They haven't given them land, supported them financially or offered to share in the abundant oil generated wealth.

In fact many in that part of the world use the Israel/Palestinian conflict of 60 years to twist perspectives from their own shortcomings and miserable treatment of citizens--creating verbal arguments for Arabic brotherhood but no real actions.

As you referenced Israeli immigrants to the US and Brooklyn in particular, you should be aware of the vast out migration of Moslems and Arabs from their many nations.

Most of them have left because of the endless strife, killings, fighting and incessant death and destruction in those lands. As evidence just take a look at some relatively recent data on Lebanese emigration here.

That research is somewhat more recent (but not the most recent example.) I'm familiar with many many Lebanese who migrated out of Lebanon prior to that because of the endless civil war between Moslems and Christians. The personal most memorable incident occurred on the evening Desert Storm war occurred in 1991, to drive Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait.

My wife and I were out to eat dinner with two of our closest friends, a Lebanese emigrant to the US and his American wife. When the waiter came by the two guys started speaking Arabic almost instantly--they recognized one another's accents, both being from Beirut.

My friend then explained to us Anglo only speakers--that the two guys had both come from Lebanon and both faught in the Civil War --on opposite sides, one being lslamic, one being Christian. My friend told us stories of his being a kid and teenager, sleeping in ditches, armed and sporadically firing on unseen enemies, night after night.

The two guys both mentioned to one another how happy they were to be out of Beirut, out of the fighting and in a nation where they didn't have to be involved in a war on a daily basis--one that is kid's they really had no say in.

Later that evening the waiter came out and told us that Desert Storm had started and the US and allied forces had started to bomb and attack the Iraqi's in Kuwait. The kitchen had TV coverage. The waiter would come out and give us updates from the news. Still later some other guys from the kitchen came out--they were additional Lebanese who had migrated from the middle east, including Christians and Muslims. They all spoke, shook hands, and interacted with my friend.

Natives leave the Middle East because its a horrible part of the world. Its got crappy governments, a dominant religeon taken over by the most violent extremist portion of the religion, horrible leaders and a prediliction toward war and violence.

Meanwhile, over many decades other parts of the world have advanced far beyond the progress of the Middle East. Israel is a nation that has advanced in its 60 years since 1948. Most of the rest of the middle East hasn't.

When one looks at the dilemna of Gaza and the plight of Palestinians there, one ought to look at the long history of miserable middle eastern leadership. Besides resulting in 60 years of war it has driven millions who simply want to live in peace to emigrate elsewhere.
