I dug some old content I had written last year in a different forum...thought it might help Now if you are struggling to get a better ranking in squidoo here's what I suggest you can do *disclaimer* I do not guarantee it will all take you to the top 100 but it worked for me, and I have good reasons to believe it might help you get a better ranking as well. The 1st step... Pick one profitable keyword out of your list Now out of that keyword, you want to make it appealing enough to pick your reader's curiosity...Pretend we are promoting a hot clickbank product...and your hot keyword would be "Fat Loss For Idiot Review"…It could go like this A Fat Loss For Idiot Affiliate Review From Your Biggest Loser! Or An Honest Fat Loss For Idiot Affiliate Review...Totally Biased! Now we don't know Squid's algorithm, but we can bet the title will be cool enough for people to click on it and we also have our hot keyword in so let's move on.. Now this is my take on it...I have no proof of it, but it is logic, that we must make good use of resources squidoo puts at our disposition… As it provides a win-win solution for both the lensmaster and the folks at Squidoo Ok...but what do you mean by making good use of resources??? Like I said…this is my take on it..but if I were to put myself in squidoo's shoes and speak from their point of view… I would want users to make the most out of everything I offer, so it adds value to the user’s lenses and the people at Squidoo. . Now using them is one thing, but making good use of them is a different thing So you have your fat loss for idiot Squidoo page up and... • You dugg it • You stumbled upon it • You “favorited†it • You delicious(ed) it All from your squidoo’s page (really important because Squidoo considers clickouts to your lens as being a lens with good content for its readers) Now what? Lensroll it! Now this is me, but when I pick a product to promote on squidoo..I always create two lenses. Now you are probably asking yourself, Why two lenses? 1st, because it gives the opportunity to promote my product from two angles, but better yet, it allows me to use the weakest lens and lenroll it to the main one.. Now guess what happened...on the following day, both pages increased ranks, meaning I got points for being lensrolled, but I also got point for lensroling a relevant page. Group it There are good chances, that there are groups related to your niche, joining a group in your niche with high activity not on only can help you get a bit of traffic but will also give you points. You don’t want to join every group possible, as it will probably be considered at trying to trick Squidoo Algorithm, but a good mix of populated and not so populated related groups will work for you and not against you. Image It I know all of us are sometimes lazy, but a little bit of effort can make the difference between being ranked high or not. Squidoo allows you to update images to your lens…obviously you should take advantage of this as it helps breaks your page for your readers but you should not only stop there, you should also learn how to add images within your text/write modules and rename all those images within the modules and the ones you can upload with your profitable keywords, Module it…enough Sometimes I see lenses with only 3 or 4 modules...to me this is falling short of completely taking advantage of what squidoo gives you. Personally, I always have around 8 modules. It is very easy to break your text between 4 modules and you can complement it with a simple Youtube modules which adds value to your lens or any other modules you want to add. Tag It..at least 40 times Something else that's also worthy of a mention in this thread is tags. Not many people realise that Squidoo actually allow 40 keywords to be inserted, which if you use the full forty, will give you 40 backlinks to your lens right from the off via tag pages. In fact, it's easy to spot a savvy marketer because they have those 40 tags in place...which definitely has an impact on the potential of the lens. Update it…often Updating with fresh content will always help boost your lensrank but one simple way to have your page updated often is to add an rss feed to it. Now this is just what you can do WITHIN squidoo to help you maximize your lensrank… You can do much more also by doing external work to get your lens to a high rank. Hope it helps any
