Any advice on how to best backup a WP blog? Any and all options would be appreciated. Anything outside of the WP plugin?

    Thanks in advance.

I was using the plugin but it stopped working as it should. Tried to uninstall - reinstall and nothing. Any ideas or other suggestions?

Basically if you have cPanel control panel at your web hosting account, just go to the backups section and click to backup your MySQL database for that blog and click on home directory backup to get a backup of all of the files.

Are you hosting your blog at your own hosting account?

Cool, as a little tip, if you have time i always recommend backing up each day/night, or at least each time you have updated your site.

Ive been glad that i have at least a couple of times, after minor problems at web hosts. :)

I use the hosting company to backup the database. I too backup nightly, at a minimum weekly.

If you hosting provider provides a cpanel, there would be an option to take a backup of your blog.

Few options to backup the blog:
(though it is already told here but i would like to re sync it)
    1.Cpnale Database Backup
2.Wordpress database Backup plugin (as told by tamilsoft)
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-db-backup/
3.If you have php my-admin access then you can export all your database
    it generally starts with
    wp-*
4.If you need your wordpress posts backup then you can easily export it from tools option (wordpress 2.7)
    like yourblog/wp-admin/export.php
