When To Start Promoting New Blog?

I was wondering when you start promoting your new blog, do you start promoting it from day 1 or do you wait untill you have some content on your site before promoting your blog?

Also do you monitize your blog from the start, or do you wait until it starts getting traffic?

Try get like 5 posts in your niche before you start promoting it which shouldn't take more than 2 hours or so.

 

I'd start promoting the site when you've got at least 10 original articles. Keep the ads to a minimum and keep them unobtrusive.

 

Try and get at least a handful of posts on it first.

 

Yes, I recommend that too, dont start promoting untill you have some content on your own, fresh, new.
I will also recommend waiting as long as you can before promoting while keeping it updated and full, that would give you best results.

 

Same opinion here. Have some 4-5 article ready to post right away when you create a new blog and then aim to post a new article every day or two. When you have some 10 articles you are ready to promote as your visitors will then be able to see what the blog is about, how you write etc etc. Don't forget to continue posting fresh content every day or two, as promotion without fresh content will not be very powerful.

 

I would suggest add some good quality content for your blog. Promoting without content is not worth an effort. Do you know about the CC plugin for blog? Your blog can be filled with quality content in minutes.

I agree with everyone else here. Try to get a stable source of content flowing first and than work on promoting your website after that. If your interesting in doing larger advertising I'd advise you wait making a month or so and allow your blog to grow and gain some authority.

 

I'd obviously put up a couple of good articles before starting promotion.

Your first impression is important, and you don't want your visitors to hit the exit button the moment they step in, do you?

 

I promote once the design design is finalized and there are at least 10 quality posts.

It will be better if you have some amount of content on your blog. That ways the promotion will look genuine to search engines as well as others.

Monetization should also come after a few posts and traffic.

 

I always start promoting my websites after the first post or when it's finished an ready to be visited!

 

If it was a blog Im normally make sure my minimum posts by that time are 5 posts and then I will start promoting that blog.

 

If you do not have 10+ posts, users have no reason to bookmark you because probably they got what they wanted. If they do not read all posts in one day, then it is a good reason for them to comeback again. And when they comeback if you have new quality content, they will subscribe to your feeds.

 

Did you ask 'when to start promoting' or 'when to start monetizing'? If it's promotion, it should start from day 1 or even before the blog is launched, if you are creating pre-content... atleast u have more than 100 pages indexed in google then after that u can promote your site by different methods.
