How to transfer domain name to web host?

I already have a web host, Hostgator, and currently hosting my site (see sig). This day, I decided to buy another domain but from GoDaddy (before I use Hostgator directly, I think they're using RegistryRocket).

Can I transfer immediately the domain to Hostgator? Even though GoDaddy has a free web host for new users (for three months only), I think I'm more familiar with Hostgator's cpanel, etc.

I think I made a mistake. Should have registered directly again with Hostgator/RegistryRocket. Oh well. If I transfer the domain would I have additional fees? Do I need to wait for a certain amount of days before I can transfer?

    Please help. Thank you.

Hi Pat, there is no additional fee to host the domain you registered with godaddy on your hostgator plan. All you have to do is login to your hostgator cpanel and find your hostgator nameservers e.g. ns1331.hostgator.com and ns1332.hostgator.com. Then sign into your godaddy account and change the nameservers for the domain you want to host on hostgator to the hostgator nameservers. Last you need to create an add-on domain in your hostgator cpanel for the domain. I've created a guide with screenshots too
