Not true, IMO. SEO can, and should be done to your site. A site with pure adsense and dup cont should be optimized to help it from being marked as a spam site. I would add in some unique text to the sidebar or somewhere near the header.... Maybe an introduction paragraph somewhere on the page, and optimize it with your keywords..... Also, you could add some new pages to your site with unique articles, and then link them to your homepage using your keywords as anchor text to the articles, and then interlink your site pages using in content keywords throughout the articles as links to different pages within your site. That could help pull in some free search engine traffic! Good Luck!
At first you should make your site have enouth content,then write the right keywords and description,and submit your site to some social bookmarks,directoris,etc.
add more pages with unique content on each page, every page title and description needs to be different too, then link the pages together with anchor text relating to what keyword you want to optimize for each page

People keep saying don't do SEO - do SEM...... I don't understand you guys. SEO & SEM are completely different although they can help each other. In any case the guy asked about SEO. if he wanted SEM he would have posted in a different forum. regarding SEO - your entire site needs to be changed. navigation should be visible to spiders, get text, backlinks.... so much more. I'm willing to give more specific guidelines in return for links
SEO is just a subcategory of SEM.. If you'll be doing SEM, most probably you will do SEO in the end..
