    I've got a blog (see above) which I use for inconsequential blatherings and generating links to sites I would like to support - and thus build their PR (Stop Kaz being a prime example).

    I've put adsense on it but the ads always relate to blogging rather than feeding off the content I've put in. The word blog is pretty rarely used, although heavy in the links etc.

    Anyway I can get Adsense to concentrate on my content, not the site type?

    Google caches it every couple of weeks but I've found from reviewing other sites that Media Partners visit very infrequently. so, assuming that googlebot is doing all the work I guess it's indexed frequently.

    I've also found that it visits within 20 minutes of a user viewing a page it can't serve ads to (like when you view a new post) and I usually view each post as a page. Interestingly all the pages linked from the index have blog ads EXCEPT the Kaz demille page which has public service ads. curious. maybe it is trying to be smart about this.

    If the content is random, then perhaps the majority of information google is able to find is about blogging (in the code, etc). I'm not sure if it would do that if you hosted it yourself.

    No, it would not. I do host my blog on my own and sometimes the same happens to my AdSense ads.

    I don't know the reason either, but it's not the hosting type of the blog...

    I have a bunch of blogs that are full blown sites, the ads are pretty much relavent to the content.

    1) Remove the blogger search bar. It is at the top of the page and looks important to the bot.

    2) Since you change the subject from post to post, you will get better results if you limit the posts shown on the main page to 1. This is under the "formatting" tab.

    If you look at individual posts, the ads are much more on target to the content.

    Go into your Blogger Dashboard, click on "Template" and it says "Change the Blogger NavBar". Just turn that to "Off". Hope that helps! :D

    There's an easy way to get rid of those blogging ads, sarahk. Simply filter out the ads that keep appearing in your URL filter. When I ran Adsense on my forum, all I kept getting was ads for vbulletin, phpbb -- generally two or three ads that dominated my entire Adsense ads. So I filtered those three out, and voila -- no more forum ads! With Bloggers, I think there's only two or three dominant ads, right? I see them on most bloggers' sites. Give your URL filter a shot. I'm sure it'll work.
