I have a minisite which ranks #1 in google for its keyword. Its a one page site.

Now I plan to extend it a bit since there a quiet a few paying keywords in the same nice which I believe I can easily grab positions for.

My question is which approach will be the better one?

    1. Add more HTML pages?
    2. Move to wordpress?

Considering SEO, keeping the current rank and stuff like that.

Currently its a static site which absolutely doesnt require any work input, although I did quiet a bit of link building around two years ago when I started it.

    Thanks

I am specifically concerned about losing the #1 spot I have. Only that stops me from moving else where.

Yeah .... I hear you .... when I first began I had a 1000+ page site .... all of which were html pages with no real structure, I had PR5 pages, Pr4 and Pr3s consistently through the site, back then I had no idea what a good site I had SEO and traffic wise. Eventually the site was ridden with blank videos dead links and images .... so someone advised me to go with a cms overhaul .... I lost everything .... pages, pr, visitors and search engine positions .... my biggest mistake online yet was switching to a cms from a html site .....

Although your site is one page .... so a simple index page would fix that, just keep the content the same and similar headings and meta tags and you'll be fine.
