I am promoting my half-year old paid directory www.dirsense.com and wondering if it is good idea to do advertisement on other paid directories.

If so, how to find those paid directories that offer such opportunities.

    Thank you for your reading.

You could directly pm some of the members here as you being a directory section member should know that which directory owner owns which directory and hence if he/she can offer you a advertising space.

    Hope it helps. :)

I think it is not such a Good Idea - if you are looking for direct link (do-follow) from other directories.

It has become really scary these days to buy links for directories ( I personally no longer do it).

If you have sufficient funds - there are 4/5 advertising options for you

(Mind that you don't buy direct links, opt for redirected)

    Banner Adds --

    1) Webmaster Forums -
    2) Popular SEO blogs
    3) Popular Webmaster blogs
    4) High Traffic Free directories
    5) Directory guides such as - web-directories.ws, best-web-directories.com, paidirectorylist.com, directorycritic.com, directoryrate.com, info.vilesilence.com etc.

    All banner ads and redirected.

IMO - Couple of directories like dirjournal/romow/aviva are doing it. It will certainly need huge advertising budget in order to first build your brand (as it is still a new directory) and I have no idea if the submissions are enough to cover the cost.
Maybe Jeff, Peter or Haxan can tell more about it if you seek their advice.

Your directory will be safe until it starts to do well, then it will probably end up penalized by your competition reporting you for paid links.

Never advertise the website URL that you want to buy links for.

    Do your trades by PMs.

    Good luck.

    Thanks Brian

i believe that you should go ahead and pick some directories that offer advertising space.See your options, choose the most valuable and those that suit you more.Do 1 month subscription Then track their statistics and possible conversions and then choose wich u will cancel and wich u will continue to have. After six months the most, your advertising budget and conversions from those should be positive.

Looks like you were doing a good job promoting your URL in the OP....

If you do want to buy banner advertising just find some popular directories and contact the owner. Or search google for "submit_banner.php" - as those pages that show up will be using the banner mod for phpLD...
