I asked this question once before and I am still having some major problems, so I thought I should post again. I have been having this problem for many months now. Here is the problem: The home page of my site is indexed (I know this from google webmaster tools). If you take a unique phrase with quotes from the home page and do a search, you get no results when my home page should show up. So although my home page is in the index, it is not being returned in the serps. Here are some other facts: No other page on the site experiences this problem Other sites on the same server do not have problems The site's pr just got raised from 3 to 4 I am not exactly sure when this started, but I have a feeling it was always this way (At first I thought I was sand boxed, but now I think that is not the case) I do not sell links and never have sold links. The domain is over 1 year old. The page is www<dot> njshore-rentals<dot> com Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? I am almost to the point where I'm considering moving the site to a new domain. (yes losing the pr4 and all) Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Indexing is completely different than getting ranked for your keyword. Indexing is good but now you must focus on link building the get your site up the search engine!
I don't think it's a question of ranking or links. This is an indexed page not showing up at all in serps.
Well, before the site as a high ranking the search engine (SERP), it must get indexed first. So the good news is - your site is already indexed. There are still quite a bit of things to do to make the site to achieve a high search engine ranking position. Things like SEO, content generation, social bookmarking, article marketing, linking etc. which all help in getting the site rank high.
We need some more information to help you solve the problem. What page isn't showing up in the SERPs? What keyword are you trying to target? One thing I noticed is that your meta keywords for your homepage, you have: New Jersey Shore, vacation rental, beach rentals, summer rentals, Jersey Shore Rentals, New Jersey Shore Beach rentals, Jersey Shore Condos, Jersey Shore vrbo, New Jersey vrbo, Jersey Shore Summer Rentals Chances are you won't rank well for vacation rental, beach rentals, summer rentals in SERPs at all. Try to be more specific. I used ExactFactor to find search engine rankings: Jersey Shore Rentals, New Jersey Shore Beach rentals, Jersey Shore Condos Jersey Shore Rentals - Not Listed New Jersey Shore Beach rentals - Page 75 Jersey Shore Condos - Not Listed Your homepage isn't showing up in the SERPs for the main keywords you're trying to target. Why are you so worried about your other pages showing up? You should check your Keyword Density as well.
The way I get my pages in the SERPs is to create RSS feeds for the sites and submit them to www (dot) pingler (dot) com, the pages then show up. Also write articles and submit them to directories targeting the pages you want in the Serps, do this with blog commenting for deep linking
The home page is not showing up in serps. At this point totally disregarding keywords. Pick any unique sentence from the home page and place quotes around it. You will not find anything. This problem is not a ranking problem. It is the page not appearing anywhere in serps. A ranking problem to me would be : "I'm on the 10th page of serps, but I want to be on the 1st for a given keyword." This is not the problem with my home page. Any unique sentence from my home page should find my home page and only my home page. This is the behavior with all of my other sites. Carl
it could be simply the on page optimzation for the specific keyword was done incorrectly hope this helps
Dear, Your site is indexed and showing in the search results. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site:njshore-rentals.com&btnG=Search ??????
I think you will get answer with this google tool Check out the following post http://socialsearchenginemarketing.blogspot.com/2008/12/is-my-website-indexed-or-banned-by.html
I agree. The home page is even indexed, but it is not showing up in serps for any phrase; even phrases that are unique to my home page. Cool tool, but this tool says my site is fine. Do you think google could actually have an error on theie side?
