    Bullshit..

I'm an agnostic, I'm free to believe what I believe. And I have no business forcing people to say what I want to hear, and the same way I don't have any business forcing people to not to say what I don't want to hear..

If Obama is a believer, it's his right, official and un-official, to ask help from god..

Why there is "In God we trust" written on dollar bills?

This is the way the founders of the country wanted... if you are for the merging of church and state than you cannot claim to be an American.

It's not even remotely the same thing. Atheists aren't calling for anti-god phrases to be put in to government ceremonies or statements denying the existence of god to be put on money.

What atheists want is a secular government. One which is not influenced by a belief in god OR a disbelief in god. Atheists want religious beliefs to play no part in government.

is that possible if you elected a religious person as your president or senator?

like it or not, they will use their religious believe to create some policies.
they will try to avoid making policy that contradict with their believe.

It should be possible, If the person you elect is truly doing their job. As their job is to represent the entire country and to govern for the entire country they should make decisions based on what is best for the entire country, Not just what their religion requires of them personally.

Theconstitution doesn't say anything about not saying it in oaths. It merely says the government can't make a national religion and can't abolish religions. People will always find something to bitch about. Get over it, if you don't want to hear it, don't listen.

    U.S. Constitution - 1st Amendment
    Article IV
What is said at Obama's inauguration has nothing to do with, and isn't even directly addressed by, either of those. SO IMO it's a moot point.

Ironically however, if he were being sworn in on the Quran, all you mofos saying he should be allowed to let his religion be represented would be up in arms! ;)
