i call it like i see it....i see you for what you are (and are not) i can take constructive criticisim, fuzzy....i just don't tolerate ignorance, especially people who make baseless "insults" and try to disguise them as criticism "she sucks" is not criticism...its just someone with an ego, upset about their lot in life. what do you know about singing, music theory etc...not much I know, because you don't have a video of yourself up...so its just your opinion...but what is YOUR opinion worth? well lets see...you gave a baseless, spiteful comment...so I guess not much huh? I am not asking for hate, I am asking for support...there is a difference and like most bitter people, you somehow thing spreading your venom, because you are unhappy with your lot in life, you get jealous seeing someone else move ahead, you try to play the victim as if you were trying to help in reality you were just trying to tear her down...guess what...i won't let ya. "she sucks" does not help in any way shape or form...it is mean, and fortunately for me....totally untrue...that's not criticism...its childish, immature, name-calling. you see...people don't stop and clap and ask to buy thie CD of people who suck...thats what they do to her all the time. In public people stop and listen, they don't ignore her and continue the conversation...which is what I am about to do with you. In fact they go out of their way to compliment her. so apparently the general public does not agree with you! SO when you say things like "seriously, I think she sucked" well thats just your ill informed opinion, and so far, your opinions haven't been ones to follow around here...now have they? which lets me know (and I have seen you here around DP) you are just a bitter individual and your comments are useless so if someone actually has a constructive criticism, by all means share (and several have) but to those with nothing better in life to do but be negative...lol...don't expect me to take your comments seriously (or lying down)
First of all, i guess you are not musically talented, do you play any instruments? As any experienced musician would have seen faults in it. I am talking about in aspect of professional singing. here is my positive constructive comments. She is totally off pitch. OUT OF TUNE - This is a killer for any singers. She tried to sound professional by dragging the speech, but this irritate the audience as she could have down in more naturally. And you noticed her fingers when she sings with song with pitch, that is a bad habit in performance, she will get penalized for it or even being make fun of. As for her voice, it is above average, but her techniques in singing really cannot make it and i would suggest she go to polish up her techniques if she is serious about singing career. And if you think my comments is not valued, well, seek for others comments. I am sure there many pretty much experienced guys who play instruments in dp, but in the end , you will probably need to admit those comments too.
lol penalized for moving her fingers while singing..what country are you from? lol - in the USA we are free to sing as we please! speaking of penalties...you are banned. hmmmm...how ironic Notice she said she is an aspiring (read amateur) singer in her other videos...of course she isnt polished but even you acknowleged...she is an ABOVE AVERAGE singer. technique always improves with training and time. don't worry, you can still buy her record when it comes out
She actually got a nice voice. Besides i think promo matters a lot and with the right management and exposure she can get a good fan base. As you mentioned she is Puerto Rican and Cuban that can get her a good fan base and a nice start to her career.
I wouldn't touch the project and I am in the music industry doing marketing and new media for many top artists as well as indies. I have brokered two major record deals to date as well as worked freelance as a talent scout. There are a few keys I look at and she doesn't have any of the keys I need to get her past my first round of just an initial look. The music industry is getting harder and harder to break acts and right now with her look and sound she would be lucky to sell enough to recoup a small budget. I am just giving my honest opinion and don't think I would spend anything on her because it is really a dead end street in that aspect. Also when asking for opinions it is best to take them and be positive with all. I would think being in the music industry so long you would be used to people being blunt about things like this. Best of luck if you do take a chance on her because in the end if people could predict exactly who will be big then a lot of these record labels wouldn't sign 30 acts with the hope of 1 being successful.
I know what you do, and although more qualified than others...your not "in" the biz. Just for the record, she already had a deal offered her by Sony records and that was over a year ago! She has grown since then. Thats why I find it so funny with people who take a 30-second video and make a CAREER judgement call on her. In or out of the business, i have little tolerence for negativity. Bluntness is fine. But negativity, is a waste of my time. I hang around positive folk, which is why we are all successful. Some folk find fault in everything..."it won't work, it can't work, it'll never work, it's not good enough" those guys never reach high levels of success, they are doomed to "work with" or ''work for" others, but never attain the success themselves. They are on the outside looking in, and claim they are in to those who don't know any better. Again, as a business coach (and music biz coach), I often do real life experiements (because i make it a point not to teach a theory, but only off of experience) and so far, this is going just as I predicted it. I can't wait till we hit phase II if this werere anymore predictable i would be a psychic! (rubs hands together) BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I am not going to argue with someone on a message board but you ask for feedback on a 30 second video and then when people say she isn't great you get mad. I don't know how you would know a lot about me but I run numerous companies and I don't care whether I am in the biz or not I am making a good income from the entertainment industry from marketing to publishing. I guess doing work for the record company you mentioned and taking the project into the top 10 on the billboard charts would somewhat count with being in the business. But either way I won't be back to visit this thread as obviously this is a pointless thread but best of luck with your act you have a long road ahead of you like many others in the music industry.

As a consumer: - I know that she doesn't look like the other hugely successful singers (think britney, christina agulaera...) - Her voice is good, but why do a cover of a song if you can't sing it better? Personally I much prefer the Whitney version. - Does she have any of her own songs? If so, that might be her thing. Maybe she'll come up with a song with such powerful lyrics that it makes her (and you) an instant millionaire
Yup, if you sing the same song, you've got to expect that you'll be compared to it. Also, since you asked the members of DP (instead of posters at a recording studio forum), you've got to expect that you'll be getting honest responses from possible consumers instead of marketing insight or motivational praise from people "in the biz". This is why I qualified my post with "As a consumer". If you think she really has that much "raw talent", maybe she should try out for "american idol". I've seen that show a few times and I've heard quite a few people that seemed to have much greater control over their voice than the one on the youtube clip you posted. I'm not trying to be mean, just honest. If you don't want honesty, you shouldn't be asking for input on an open forum like this.

never said you were mean...i asked you specific questions...maybe YOU don't want honesty its silly to compare apples to oranges whether you are a raw talent or not and everyone in the biz knows idol is NOT how the biz truly works..idol is a reality show, where most of it is about people with no talent being made fun of. your last post was constructive, and from YOUR perspective (i disagree with it for various reasons) but again i saw it as constructive I have issue with people saying things that are just plain stupid insults...its immature and of course all the fake "i was such and such big shot in a past life in the music business on another planet) BS i call Bull on all of em PM me some credentials...otherwise it aint foolin me.'
