I've heard of people paying users to post an X amount of threads on forums to start up a community but never anything like this. There's no benefit for the webmaster (as so many have already stated). Don't you think a webmaster would rather create a fake account than pay someone to waste bandwidth?

I have 3 very successful arcade sites, and all started with me and 4 of my friends playing all day for 10 days. Thats all it needs.

I've so far completed 3 days of sitting in my underwear and playing Civilization IV for a user here on DP. I can't say who it is, how much I was paid, or why someone would hire me to play a game, but I can say that I was very successful in both sitting and playing for this person.

Although most people don't want to use this service, I see nothing wrong him offering it here. There are lots of turnkey game sites being sold on Digitalpoint, and it makes the game site look much better to have some usage instead of having 0 users and 0 games played. For only $5 it seems worth it, and I would pay if I had a game site I was launching.

Well, the thing is that he will be playing as 1 user so after he plays, it would be 1 user and 50 games played. He is not going to leave comments or promote the site for you.

If you are concerned about giving other gamers the impression that it is a busy site, you can always use PHPMyAdmin and edit the games played figure.

I find that when I have my game site up, it just seems to attract players without much effort. It is pretty much set up and forget and it seems quite active.
