PLR articles can be used, but I HIGHLY recommend that you rewrite the articles to make it unique. The search engines can pick out articles that are used all over the internet and will simply ignore them. So make sure that you make the articles stick out as being highly informative and that they are unique compared to other articles that are used on the internet.
