What is the most you have invested in a particular website?

    Whether you have bought an existing site or have developed one from scratch, what is the most you have inititally invested in a website? Where did the majority of the money go? (promotion, design?) Also now that you look back at it, have you made a good enough return for you to think your investment was a success?

    Last year, no this year, made a huge investment in one site and today it's offline. Didn't sell it, didn't do anything else, just pushed the plug and let it die.

    The most I would have invested in a website would be around $20. I have never made big websites. :)

    about a year back I invested around 300-350$ (which includes design, promotion etc..) in a new site and now that site is making $170-200/month via adsense that's pretty good investing I guess :)

    I spent around $100 on the domain, $120 on a new design and then a further $50 or so on advertising.

    Didn't really turn out so well, that domain has now expired ;)

    I spent a couple grand on my work site (not the crap in my signature) this past year and about the same amount the year before. The average marketing cost in my industry is about 15% and mine is a little over 1% so the investment pays off.

    Other than that I will once in a while spend money to repair one of my goof of sites when I get screwing around with the code.

    no you cant :p I dont like to reveal my niche :D coz the last time I did tell someone about my niche in a few months that guy became my competitor :eek:

    i invested $ 10 for http://www.playndownload.com/ (buying domain but lots of time doing programming and designing) last month and now i have earned $ 35 so far may be i need to do more and more advertising :(
