1 Million DP posts - I think it'll happen today!

Ironic - I was looking at this today and considering have a little fun, guessing contest with it but decided it would happen too fast.

I dunno, dude. Somehow, I dont really get the explanation here (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=1014903&postcount=51). I mean, if a post gets deleted, but the ID given to it is not recycled... ("When a post got deleted the ID given to it doesnt get free.") shouldnt the last ID actually be bigger than the number of posts supposedly submitted? ie. more than 1 mil?? Unless perhaps there's a typo here - and the IDs actually do get re-used...

Basically even if a post gets deleted, it still was made and thus this forum has now had over 1 million posts posted to it.

 

That is just the id, it is auto_increment so it just keeps counting whether something has been deleted or not

 

ah, I see! It's clear now, thanks. I basically got confused between the 'id', and the 'count'... Guess there's nothing left for me to claim now.

 

yeah, gotcha. Anyway I was just thinking, perhaps we could leave this as a sticky here or something? (at least, until the "number of posts" has made it past the millionth mark) So as to answer all the questions, and what-not...

Ah this is too easy! As I mentioned before, you probably don't go out much and are always around. I guess you aren't spending your time at bars or dating (or did the DP members find you someone as I read that a while ago).
