That is what the Americans believe as per a survey conducted by pew research center. I don't think they would be too happy to go there:)

Here is the article from NEWYORKTIMES

Awesome! I hope they've got an Atheist jazz club up there where we can listen to The Devil's Music and pick up naive religious chicks.

atheists don't believe the existence of god, so they hardly bother about theory of hell or heaven after death.

Atheists wouldn't care whether they go to heaven or hell; they wouldn't even care to know
if they have any spirit at all, that which will be subjected to either eternal security or
perpetual damnation. Or maybe Atheists only believe that physical death is the end of all, and that's it.
So what would they need God for??? God save their souls!!!

Athiests tend to be closer to God than their religious brethren.

the way I see it most religions have two main parts to them: one is treating people well, and the other is worshipping the deity/es. I'm sure the first part would be enough to get into heaven/superior level or whatever it might be after life, and that the deity/es is/are not as ego-centric as religions portray them to be(as in being so interested about people worshipping them). But frankly I think when we die, we die, and that's pretty much it, although I can see the appeal of believing in some form of afterlife

If I die and end up in Heaven I don't know who will be more pissed, me or the Christians who have regularly told me I was going straight to Hell for my total indifference to the issue. But, hey, I heard they have gold paved streets and an unlimited supply of free muffins up there, so many it won't be too bad.

They would kick me out. I'm not atheist but when I got around to telling the prophets how stupid they were I am sure they would open up the pits and kick me in.
