I want to make sites to review various webmaster products like web hosting, domains and scripts. Should I register new domains like this

    webhostingreviews.com
    domainreviews.com
    scriptreviews.com

or use my existing webmastercritic.com domain like this

    webhosting.webmastercritic.com
    domain.webmastercritic.com
    scripts.webmastercritic.com

Which is better for seo purposes and just in general? Thanks in advance

My personal opinion would be, as long as it still relevant to the existing domain then its fine to stick with the subdomain.

Do you want to create completely new site? Then I guess a new domain is the best choice.

that depends on your objective. if you are adding new categories to the existing domain, then subdomian would be fine. but if you are creating whole new site with a whole new marketing plan, then new domain would be better.

If the new site you want to set-up is relevant to main site (top level domain), then it's better to have directory for seo benefits..

Since all your new categories seem to perfectly fit with your existing domain name, there should no harm in going ahead with sub domains...

Since you are dealing with web hosting, domains and scripts, you will be better of having them as subdirectories like

    example.com/scripts
    example.com/web-hosting
    etc.

It is way easier to manage one big site then 3 medium size sites
