Strangest Snow Photo I've seen

We took this photo this morning of the snow on our porch. It's rare we get much snow to begin with. This is 2-3 feet of snow that has curled and draped just like a ribbon.

    curly snow

Nope, this is totally untouched in every way, the snow, the porch, the photo everything. It is free hanging with nothing supporting it. That's what makes it so amazing to me, I've never seen anything like it in my lifetime. We got the photo about an hour before it collapsed.

It stands about 5-6 feet away, so it's not coming off the roof. That's why there's so much pile up on the bottom of the porch as well. We've had storm after storm after storm for close to 2 weeks now, and it hasn't come above 32 degrees yet. It's just beginning to come up in temp now, in fact in just lightly rained. Obviously the snow is heavy, not the powdery light stuff.

I think ice is the reason it's shaped like that. Gravity pulls the water down and it freezes that way. There was also a weird design on my car the other day like that.
