I use a static site for my website and joomla for my blog. If you have a website, your SEO consultants/web developer will love you. Joomla is great for maintaining a blog on your own, but it takes a bit to learn.

If your going to be doing all the work yourself and have some type of knowledge in each of the areas your going to be working in.

    1. Static Site - Custom App's
    2. Joomla
    3. WordPress
    4. PHP Script
    5. Drupal

If you are going to have someone do the work for you and your #1 concern is cost effectiveness.

    1. PHP Script
    2. Word Press
    3. Joomla
    4. Drupal
    5. Static Site

If you can setup the basics and have a budget to work with for more advanced features

    1. Joomla
    2. Static Site
    3. Word Press
    4. PHP Script
    5. Drupal

I have worked with Joomla, Static (custom sites) and Wordpress it really comes down to what you need done for what purpose though.

I don't do work myself anymore but those are from my own experiences in the past.

If you plan to start a blog, let wordpress be the first choice because of obvious reasons. BTW, I have based my sites on php.

Wordpress is easy and as said before php is not hard to learn.. It's probably one of the simplest languages you can learn.

    Hi there,

    Thanks all for your replies.

I want to implement all things on a single platform like Adsense, Affiliate marketing and driving thousands of visitors on the daily basis.

    I need a stable all-in-one type platform.

I have two bigger sites running on Drupal and i love it. Many different people contribute to the site and its easy to create new sections, menus etc.

Drupal is worth it if you run a bigger site and have alot of staff.

I would say PHP in conjunction with Wordpress. If you learn a little PHP, you can make your own theme, and you'll be surprised at results - of course you would have to learn some CSS, but that's not a problem ;).

Wordpress is also quite easy to maintain.

I generally prefer wordpress as my cms but I think Joomla or Drupal would be fine. It really depends more on quality content and marketing than the csm.
