Hi, I am just starting out on SEO, and been trying to build up backlinks. How fast can one build links? Besides creating links from relevant topics/sites, I have also been doing article submissions (with spinner), but I think I might be overdoing it. Been doing about 200 to 400 submissions per day (directories with different titles, articles with spinner), for a site that is just starting out? How do I check backlinks? My site is jihoy.com, but when I tried link:www.jihoy.com I get 4 links: www.jihoy.com (with a space, I get 1040) link: jihoy.com (309) links: jihoy.com (550) links: http://www.jihoy.com (107) link: http://www.jihoy.com (104) So which one is my link count? I read that I should build like 10 to 20 links per day. Is that as a norm, or as as a function of pre-existing links? I'd like to know which figures above I should use. Thanks in advance.
You can make hundreds of links per day.. Do one thing: You should do: Directory submission Article Submission Forum Posts. SBM Blog comments...
Hello, I divided your question in two parts. 1. build back links and 2. build back links. Answer 1: You can build thousand links per day. ( see previous answer ) Answer 2: But, If you want to improve back links so, you have to concentrate on quality submission. Yahoo site explorer and Google webmaster tool is best tool to check back links.
Just ensure that you are getting links from search engine friendly sites. Use yahoo to check your backlinks... gives more accurate results than google.
Doing 100 submissions a day, doesn't give you 100 backlinks a day. If you update your content regularly you should be ok.
Building link is neccessary for the page rank. It also helps in popularity of page. The faster you get high pagerank links from authority sites like the top directories the better. It's an advantage.Once you do directory and rss submission if you have a blog with your website also blog directory submission but optional - then start the normal precedure. Normal procedure is the best link building methods, and goal is doing it regularly. Article submission and link exchanges are the top two ones that you can do daily. _________________ Maria0809
200 - 400 per day is far too many. That won't look organic at all. It is more the consistancy really. When you start working on other sites and projects, are you going to be able to keep up this amount of work on this site? I would personally just do a handful a day. That's just me, but it's your choice. Andy
you are doing too fast my friend.. The best is around 30 back links per day. Other wise.. your site may be in the Google "watch lists" and they will ignore your site in the SERPs if you did something that not complying their terms and conditions.
Directories dont get indexed straight away, sometimes not even for months, so you can essentially do as many directory submissions a day as you like/have patience for. Live links though... I'd try not to do toooooo many a day, thats not to say dont do any at all lol but just use your best judgement, dont look like a spammer and always ALWAYS check the quality of the places your linking too. A requested link doesn't neccesarily mean a backlink. If you need a break, go to your sites competitors site/s and check their links, then email out a 3-way link request to their linked sites to break up the steam alittle y'kno, to have a link on a similar niche site to yours is always ok. Be creative!
the more links, the better for sites, please don't nervous. Meanwhile, i think the first methods to check backlinks is right, don't leave the blank between the link and URL.
Build 30-40 backlinks per day for first 2-3 months. After that your website will be stronger and you can build more backlinks.
you're right about "the more the better" but it has been said right above that any rush is bad. 30-40 per day, or you get penalized.
I would suggest you do link building at a timed pace....in other words just ensure that you do not get too many links in a short period....this would seem abnormal and might also be treated as spammy....Having said that, also ensure that you get links from relevant website, who do not spam. Link building is a slow and a painful process....but in the end of it, its always beneficial....
Thanks for the replies. I think I have watched too many advertisements of "getting hundreds of backlinks in a week" type of advertisement. However, I do think that backlink creation is a function of number of existing links, and I am trying to test the limit as to how many backlinks increase is possible per day. My backlinks have been increasing at a rate of 5% to 15% a day maximum. I think I will slow down a bit and see how that works.
It's not about quantity. You should come up with a schedule that allows you to spend similar amounts of time: 1. Submitting to quality directories 2. Writing articles 3. Posting on your own blog(s) 4. Posting comments on other blogs that are related to your niche 5. Social bookmarking sites (1-2 entries per day) 6. Build a social networking presence with links to your site 7. Press releases for your site 8. Reciprical links with site in your exact niche 9. Forum commenting (placing site/anchor link on signature)
You can do 100 links a day, and you can't be sure if search engines found them indexed them all, but good question, I have thought that Google programmers programed their engine to check how fast we build links too.
If you don't use automated tools, you can do as many as you want in a day. You should, technically, never be able to reach your cap if you are doing natural link building. I think the only concern you may have otherwise is if you do a ton of automated directory submissions or something.
You wont be considered a spammer if you get a bunch of backlinks at one time as long as they are legit.
